To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hi, I'm trying to use the Tapatalk app (on iPod Touch iOS5) to follow this forum.

Tapatalk lists this forum among the included ones but, when I open it, an error says that maybe the Tapatalk plugin for SSC has something wrong and then it stops loading.

Can some SSC Admin check about this issue?

Please, I think Tapatalk is a very useful app to follow forums on small devices and I'd like to watch SSC using this App and not by the standard browser.

Thank you 🙂

I will check on it this evening. I don't have anything to view it on so I don't know if it is working or not? I think I am a version or two behind so that might be it.

Should be fixed now, updated to the latest plugin and added the code to my header (which was missing from the new style).

I will need to research this more because the install is really straight forward. All I have to do is extract the archive to the webserver and add one line of code to a file and refresh the template. maybe you might need to clear cache and or cookies on your end? I have their most recent version and I will look into this. Its just a shame I have no way to test this to see if it is working.

You can test this application on android emulator :

BTW, there is the same error as on my device, so the problem is on the forum or tapatalk.

Are there any news on this? I see the forum but can't connect (I'm never asked about userid/pwd. There is just an error message asking me to contact the forum's administrator). I'm using Tapatalk 1.13.5 on Android.

I have to try re-installing this software again to see if that helps. The installation seems pretty straight forward but people are still having problems seeing the forums correctly on mobile devices. If I have time again I will look into addressing that this weekend.

Re-installed the software and updated tapatalk with the correct info for the site and it should work now because on their site it does say it is installed properly.

Just a heads up for anyone that uses tapatalk to view the SSC forums. On occasion I add/remove forum areas or move posts. and it has been brought to my attention that some times you might have to flush the cache on the mobile device or tapatalk to see changes. I don't have a mobile device to verify this but a way around this is to look for any settings that may cache this site and you could possible turn that off so you always load a fresh copy. I know browsers have this feature, just not sure about mobile devices.

Tapatalk can't connect to SSC anymore. Will this app still be supported after the update?

Just installed tapatalk on android but it says the app can't connect so looks like the bridge is broken again. SSC nags every time you access on a mobile to install the app (guess its the BB Platform doing it) which is paid so it would be nice if you could get it to work again. Thank you.

Give it a try now, is it working?

EDIT: It's working on my ASUS TF101 so it should be working.
