To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

So, which system are you going to start in?

Until we know exactly which system we can choose from, I'll just say which system I'd choose among all the systems that they released info about...

Since I don't intend to play as a pirate, I'll probably place my hangar on Terra, it seems a good spot to start on if you intend to play as a trader Ofcouse, another system I might choose is the exclusive system for early backers that was unlocked recently, if it seems a good enough place.

Probably the same somewhere, where you are not going to get attacked straight away.

I read on some gaming sites that the game has been pushed back until a Q1 2015 release any one know if that has been confirmed by RSI.

I haven't read anything official, but atleast on the SC wiki page they say the releasedate is early 2015: http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/Anticipated_release_schedule

Edit:

After some research I found a mention of a releasedate in early 2015 on a Reddit CR did 4 months ago, http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1d5z5j/im_chris_roberts_creator_of_wing_commander_and/

However, I don't know who said it, it waswn't CR, but neither did he correct it, so I asume it is a valid date

I guess I would have to wait and see all of the systems that will be available to me to choose from, I was thinking about the bountry hunter/explorer route for me personally so many a system not close to the high traffic areas.

I though that I had not read anything about it being put back.

I'd like something fairly safe but not too safe, and fairly close to the frontiers. Why? Because I intend to explore and pew pew some unfriendly enemies.

I think I'm gonna go with something like Robske, a safe system right on the frontier so that I can jump into action fast and also be able to fly safely during missions and such.

I wasn't aware an announcement was made about systems or their functions.

anyone have a link to that?

I read people quote game facts all the time on that forum and I can't figure out where they're reading it.

There have been some info released about some systems. You can find a map of the known star citizen universe at http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Nagidal/Galaxy_map

Also, kickstarter have some info about some star systems when some systems were unlocked, for instance, here is the info about the Krell system: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cig/star-citizen/posts/351777

Also, there is some info on the RSI site, for instance, here's the link to the info about the Killian system: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/13278-Galactic-Guide-Kilian-System and the Terra system: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/13158-Galactic-Guide-Terra

thanks for this.

first time i'd seen a map for SC.

I'm really getting the impression from forum posts that this game is just going to be a lot like Eve.

Am I wrong?

please prove me wrong somehow...

I'm not sure what this game is really about yet I just keep buying ships...

Anyway, a map was chosen as MVP in an episode of WMH a while ago:

Here's a link to that map: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/30053/star-map-v1-10-with-flight-planner-mvp-w00t/p1

I haven't played Eve, so I personally can't tell the differences between the games, but ofcouse, I've read a lot of posts about it on the RSI forum.

There're a lot of post comparing the games. Anyway, here's a video camparing the games:
