With every new version Vice include new graphic improvements. And the filesize is less than 300mb 🙂 and actually the game is compatible with lot of (current or "old") pc's.

I purchased one of the games a few years ago (Evochron Renegades or something), and was blown away by the professional feel of the game, the flight engine, and the graphics.
But.....it just felt dead. There seemed to be no real backstory, no plot or mission of any importance, and no feeling that there was anyone else alive in the Universe at all. I don't mind lonely space exploration games, but even exploring wasn't much fun, and it was possible to earn lots of money very quickly, so even that wasn't very fulfilling.
Dunno, maybe I was just missing something. I should try playing again. In any case - I remain very impressed by his commitment to space sims and wish him lots of success! 🙂

That startup sequence is nice but would probably need to be a bit slower, think almost a minute is a bit too long. But the process and the effects are really nice.

That is the actual "Loading" screen in Evochron Mercenary when u save into a Station and quit the game i understand 🙂
Lots' of options but I never been keen on the cockpit design of the Evochron games.

This video shows a few of the prototype gameplay options being developed including the new build system, mining improvements, and distress call contract objectives. It also shows how the new carrier model looks. There are many other new elements, this video simply shows a few of the ones I've been working on lately.
The new build option is an all new system complete with a dedicated console menu and module based construction format. The new build system provides options for unique layouts and even supports building cities on planet surfaces (giving planets another beneficial purpose in the game's universe).
A lot of nice features are being worked on, personally the way Evochron games are improving it will be a short while and Egosoft will have some competition. Evochron has a leg up on X because you can land on planets 🙂 But one thing in that video that caught my eye was the effects around those asteroids getting shot. There any word as to the next release of version of Evochron?
It does look like they are trying to be the new X game, see who get their first Evochron or Eggosoft remodeling XR.
