To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Oooh, that vid is an especially good one, Pinback. It's got the characters of the Orks and Space Marines exactly right, and the moment When the Dreadnought appears and chain-guns the hillside makes me cream.

I found I actually had a couple of memorable ones spring to mind. The first for its sheer originality and unique tone. It made me so excited to actually play the game...!

And, more on a theme with this wonderful site:

It's the music that makes it, I think. Glorious.

Ascendancy music reminds me of some film music, might be one of the star trek films?

Another one for me is Bart VS The Space Mutants, got it with my first Amiga.great intro

rock hard game. 😆

Again it not a game I have played but I like the music in the intro to Earth & Beyond, also it

remindes me a lot babylon5.

Alien Breed Tower Assault, now this is a classic and prove beyond all doubt that you

should never let deves act in their own intro. 😆

Wing Commander 3 is probably one of the best games I have ever played and that reminds me I will make a post hopefully this week but someone actually made movies of WC3 and WC4 and they are just great it is all the clips and some space combat all tied together to show a great story. They are pretty hefty in size though hundreds of megs to a gig in size.

I was thinking about converting them to fla so I can upload them to youtube but we'll see if I can get the permission and time 🙂

Privateer 2 was great as well and Clive Owen did a great job playing the role.

Absolutely love this game. Shame they didn't make the 2nd once before the devs got shutdown. I'm sure you can find this in a bargain bin somewhere for $5. And it should run on that netbook of yours 🙂

I think this trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic is one of the best ones ever made.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Freelancer's intro yet.

Perhaps it is too obvious..

The sheer awe inspiring feeling it gives is off the scale. (at least for me anyway)

I think it maybe was obvious to me that's why I didn't mention it. That intro did a great job setting up the story and the mood of the game.

Well I couldn't resist posting this as my favourite intro, note the lag on the Amiga version, must have been an A500! As for the remakes by Inquistor and Coolammo, a possible vision of the future? I reckon Inquistor's is closer to the original, but I still think Coolammo's version is cool too.
