Talk about two good things close to each other.

My copy of The Precursors came in today and Wesp5 is almost ready with the V 1.0 of the patch.

Now if Deep Shadows would announce the official Western version or bringing out an expansion to finish the last part, that would be a very nice conclusion.

Wesp5 just let me know when you have a download link and I will upload it here for everyone using the same download link. Thanks again for all the hard work Wesp5. I might just go ahead and pickup the precursors after the translation work is done.

Anyone know any real info on the status of Deep Shadows itself?

I just uploaded the The Precursors Unofficial English translation patch 1.0 to The Patches Scrolls. As soon as it it available from there I will post the link here. Maybe it will be this very day :)!

Mind you, although this patch mostly restores the English text already found in the Russian game, the translation is quite bad at times. So if you find any errors or similar, please post them here so I can improve the translation in further updates...

OK. I started playing the game today.(Version 1.1 with Wesp5's excellent translation patch. THANK YOU WESP5!!! 😀 😀 😀 ) Although still I have not reached space, I really like the FPS/RPG game. If you ever played "Boiling Point" you will be right at home. The only bug I encountered, was saves corruption (but I think it was my fault since I had overclocked my PC, and I used quicksaves far too often. In any case do not use quick saves). And there is a fix for ATI cards if you encounter flickering skies.

Well I finally got my big computer back 😀 with it rather elderly video card but I have Precursors up and running,Not done much so far except wander around,chat to the locals.Took one of the jeeps for a spin around the desert,ran over a few raiders and bugs then wrecked it. 😆

Read on the Precursors forum that,there is some gaint worm in desert (aka Dune) but I have not seen it yet. ❓

Theres a Precursors resource editor,the developers had done some translation in several languages. Spanish, French, German.Seem they are incomplete but would be a good start for anyone wanting to do a translation.

This must be some sort of bug,every time I set the vehicles to simulation in the game menu the game changes it back to arcade after any cut scene.

I have reached the forest moon of endor or the planet Gil or what ever its called,hope theres none of these damned ewoks on it.I left the shotgun on the ship. 😆

The Precursors site is back up,chance to look at the encyclopedia

I do like system map in the game reminds me of an updated Frontier one,but without the ability to move the planet around in time,You can zoom in and out using the mouse.

Think they should have put some more info here like which good could inported/exported and link to a encyclopedia

I taken on a mission for the DU to rescue a lost squad on a bomb out world full of raider,unfortunately when I got there they were all dead apart from one,sarge who said I had to get the death star plans back to the Du,I mean Secret plans back to the DU.

Think I need a bigger gun,"RUNAWAY RUNAWAY"!!! 😆

Well the ship got pretty banged up getting into and out of Yarent and with not enought fuel to make the jump back to Gil.I had to jump to a near by system and dock at an Empire station and buy some more fuel,but they would not repair the ship on account that I had blown up one their freighters .So I decided to go back to Goldin and do some sud missions and do a bit of the tourist thing.

IMO it's the most Innovated game to out in years in this genre,it's not a perfect game by any means and the space side could be improved,its a shame most people will never play the game.

In General I think this were modern space sim should be heading,for far too long devs have either used the Elite or Wing Commander model for there games and its about time they move on.Just making the same game over and over with better graphic and the odd added feature (and I'am thinking about Egosoft here) is not going to rescue this genra from the niche end of gaming that it has fallen into over the last ten years.Hopfully some will see Precursors and think now theres an idea.

My thoughts exactly.

Thinking about things I would have liked to have seen in the game.

Like to have seen a cockpit view,would have given the game a more inmersive feel in space.

And a rear view.

The ability to transport a vehical between planets.

A better trading engine and some use for the asteroid mining.

Different space station designs for the Empire and DU and different interiors.

More life going on out side the stations.ie more ships docking.

Better radar.

Access to a engine/shield and gun control pannel as in sundog where you could make temporary repaires using the shunts or replace damaged parts,at the moment the inside of the ship seems to have no use.

It's no good,this place seem to be at war and I can't find a way through the lines between the Free Traders and Empire.

Think I will go back Goldin and see if I can improve my standing with the Empire.

The bird people of Glee have a spectacular city in the tree tops I've not been able to explore it as my reputation is too poor with them although I was able to deceive a couple of the guards at the landing pad before the bird brains figured out who I was and shot me. 😆
