Interesting interview here with Chris Roberts talking about his games and films, also mentions a possible return to the Wing Commander universe/ space combat games.

“I definitely want to do another Wing Commander, and I have a very specific vision for it,” Roberts said. “I’m looking at the games being made now and I go ‘Yeah, they’re really cool, and there’s some really great stuff,’ but I think I could come back and push the boundaries of cinematic storytelling again. I’m looking at some of the stuff that’s been done and it’s sort of, in my eyes anyway, falling short, and it’s not because of the technology. It’s falling short because of how it’s been done.”

That is interesting news. It would be great to see Chris Roberts back doing what he does best. He is right of course, we really need a new space sim that will push the bounries, fire up the genre and bring back the glory days! 🙂

Like to a see a reboot of the games set back during the Kilrathi war of the first three games but with a different storyline.

I read on Blue's News yesterday that EA weren't adverse to exhuming old IPs. WingCo wasn't mentioned, but if both Roberts and EA are open to the possibility, then who knows where things could lead?
