RE: More earthlike planets and more life - a WIP
This looks excellent, more earthlike planets instead of tiny rocky ones makes things a lot more interesting p.s. "nice" to meet you MadMax0110 are you another one of Biomechanoid's friends?

<t>Bio In Another exampleThe transit drive for Paragon, was "performed" by someone who did not understand what was Stardreamer and Targeted Tunnels.Someone thinks Stardreamer is time compression Like Silent Hunter Game, or Microsoft Combat Flight Sim. <r>Effectively celestia with a few more modifiers for luminosity... Celestia is a great program, no doubt, but it would not be the kind of interface I would want for the job at hand. The current setup works very well (a little more zooming distance before it switches to the dot-view might be nice ...

PPS: Hells bells, VS2012.... my poor eyes, what a ghastly interface. The joys of applying an interface language designed for casual users of touch and mobile devices to the least appropriate place for it you can imagine

<r>There always the star citizen way <E>:)</E> It's ironic though that the second you want to actually make use of the map it converts to 2D <E>:)</E> I think a functional 3D starmap is actually a huge design challenge, I'm interested to see if Braben has the guts to do one for Elite Dangerous, but ...

<r>Thank you. What do you mean by spec - bump? In the render there's a separate bump texture channel (Basically the one I used for planning the plating and other surface stuff.)and some subtle automatic beveling too. I imagine he's referring to the fact that the engine doesn't have actual bump map ...

<r>Turrets would much improve things. It seems silly not to have auto-targetting and leading turrets, we have them today in real life! As far as I can tell, this is the crux of more accessible combat. If this can track and engage dozens of targets moving at multiple times the speed of sound, then ...

Ha, looks cool, but it shows you how much time they must put into modelling on that scale (if it actually makes it into the game.)

RE: Concert art for Spider an area in the Cathcart System
Looks awesome, though I do honestly wonder whether crynegine3 can be pushed that far, I know the Mechwarrior Online Devs have had a LOT of issues with the development of larger maps and complicated systems, and Star Citizen will be a hundred or a thousand times more demanding on those fronts.

<t>I'm quite curious. But another browser MMO seems like a bit ... unfilfilling. Yeah, if he pulls that as the big reveal I'm fairly sure angry RPG fans will hunt him down, hopefully it's something genuinely interesting, it would be cool to see if he can do something innovative without the shackles ...

<t>I spotted the changelog for Alpha 31 states; "Intro & tombstone can now use SGModels (#1956, #2006)" Apologies if I'm being a touch slow, but is there an explanation of how to do this? Is it fully accessible yet? I couldn't find any models already in place and the commit notes didn't seem to ...

Moddability
<t>Having been looking at the game in detail for a week or so, I'm interested to hear from the devs how much of a focus is being placed on making the engine content agnostic and moddable, i.e. viable for total conversions and so on. I've seen reference to the fact that certain stock ships must be in ...

<t>Potsmoke, I'm new around here, and I can see why you're annoyed, but the developers seem to be taking account of the fact that modellers are in the main not programmers. I had a look at Pioneer for the project I'm working on a year or so ago, and decided it was unusable, because it had a model ...

<t>This is absurd. It is absurd, but it's the sort of language he was using at the start of the pitch. Like you said, that a young guy with no experience could work out Kickstarter more easily than the head of a studio with hundreds of employees and decades of experience is pretty embarrassing, yet ...

<t>It was about time to provide an update to the KS fund raising process. A linear extrapolation still gives about £950k (same as 13 days ago), but I guess we'll now start to see an increase in the rate of pledged amounts. Well its already at £983,000 with 8 days to go, so hopefully the upward ...

iOS? Should be really pc centric then. Would be awesome to see a proper Space Hulk FPS, but I doubt that's going to happen, at least not in the near future.
