RE: What happened? The new Space Sims.

<t>I've often wondered the same thing. I was such a fan of older space sims, but aside from KSP, nothing recent has really grabbed me. That's not to throw shade at other games. I've enjoyed some Elite Dangerous. But I think it boils down to scope. KSP focused on a single solar system and is ...

RE: Looking for something specific...

So I'm late to the party here, but I'd say consider StarMade. While it probably fits more the block building games, there is a lot of automation to it.You can control fleets of ships (though that is still rudimentary) and have ship yards assemble new ships for your fleets.

RE: The new Avorion Demo 0.8.5 is out - Super Action Mode, Lasers and faster Gameplay

I downloaded it the other night. While the ship building was a bit confusing to me (not the descriptions of what the parts did, but how I was supposed to control the size and shape of the blocks) I had fun flying around for a bit. I'll be happy to back your kickstarter.

RE: Turn-based Spaceship Combat Games?

How do you feel about real-time with a pause feature? There was an old game called Critical Mass that was turn-based. You were given a squad of ships. Well worth considering. I'd post a link, but I have new phone and haven't figured the copy paste yet. It's by a Sean O'connor.

RE: Wayward on Steam early access

I feel like EA games should be more expensive. They need to be raising more money, not less. I bought it. So far I like it, but I've only played a little.

RE: Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Hey guys. I just wanted to congratulate you on all the positive steam reviews so far. I'm pretty skeptical of EA games after I got burned by Starforge, but things seem to be looking up for you. When the funds come, you'll have another customer.

That looks beautiful. You will have money from me when you are ready to take it. Are you planning on going for Steam Greenlight? Not that I think you should or shouldn't. I'm just curious.

RE: X: Rebirth 3.0

<t>X-Rebirth is way lacking compared to X3:AP. It has much better visuals, but often poor performance. It also lacks a lot of the functionality that X3 had. I still think it has potential, and I am glad they're working on it, but for now it doesn't hold my attention. I keep checking back in with ...

RE: Empyrion - Galactic Survival

<r>So.. does that mean no minions? Cause I'm really serious about wanting them. I do see your point also though. I've actually been brainstorming an idea very similar to what you're imagining for a long time now and hope that perhaps one day I can make it a reality <E>:-P</E> This is what first gave ...

RE: Empyrion - Galactic Survival

<t>So.. I may be a bit burned out on all the voxel-based space games coming out. Not to say I think you've got a bad idea. It's a good video full of features that I appreciate, but I don't see what distinguishes it enough from the likes of Starforge, Starmade, Space Engineers or Planet Explorers. If ...

RE: Thoughts on Slow Yaw?

<t>I'm back after buying an X45 off of ebay. $48. It's been four days now and I'm in love. Unlike the X52, the rudder is on the throttle and it is way easier for me. Handle twist rudders have always been too much for me to deal with. Flying with it is an absolute dream. Combining it with one of the ...

RE: Thoughts on Slow Yaw?

<t>I just grabbed the beta last night. The yaw is a bit off putting at first, but I think I like it. In a way it is a huge throwback to the old space sims like the original X-Wing. The limitations of your ship are much more apparent than many other games. Your fighter, while advanced for sure, has ...
