RE: Why no 3000AD games?

<t>B.T.W., Shingen... that name rings a bell from the BC forums. If I remember correctly, there was an interesting love/hate relation ship between you and Smart :DYeah, Derek and I go way back. I started a indie fleet back in 2001 when Derek was trying to get BCM to work as a MP game. There were ...

RE: Why no 3000AD games?

<t>I don't know. I've always liked this game. I got BC3K 1.0 way back in 1997, was active on comp.sys.imb.pc.games.space-sim Usenet, when the whole "Flamewar" took place. I remember that was pretty fun. I have only bought BC3K, BCM, and UC . I didn't bother with any of the "updates" as it was always ...

Why no 3000AD games?

<t>Battlecruiser 3000AD, Battlecruiser Millennium, Universal Combat - ect For a forum dedicated to the space-sim niche, I find it hard to fathom why there are no threads for 3000AD on here. Whatever individual opinions of the game(s), the series is still one of the very first tactical, open-ended ...

Carpenter and Space-simmer seeks help.

<r>I don't know if I can post this here, if not than I guess it won't be here long. I've been on this site for a few years, so I thought I'd at least give it a try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. My name is Roger Howland. I'm a 47 year old single guitarist/carpenter who needs a little help. I don ...

RE: Universal Combat CE 2.0 Out on Steam Now

<t>It's good to see Derek releasing this game for free, like he has done with all the previous versions of this game. Sadly, he doesn't seem to be willing to fix any of the numerous bug that have plagued the game since Battlecruiser: Millennium. And, if anyone mentions these bugs on the 3000AD ...

RE: Alpha 9 released

Well you guys could take a page from IWar 2 and cap the max speed of AI ships in combat around the player ship. I still think a decent lead indicator would help a lot.

It does already have one of a sort, you just have to fire a little short of the red cross.
Is that what that supposed to be? It's not that intuitive, or very helpful for that matter. Something a little more obvious maybe?

<t>Look, statism will never work as a viable for a sustainable society.Giving a small group of people a monopoly of violence, theft and fraud is, of and by itself, self-destructive.The rational for the state is that evil people exist, and that there must be some way to control and punish those "evil ...

I bought Evochron: Alliance in 2005, and to me, the game hasn't changed that much at all. Alliance was pretty fun for awhile, but it got old really fast.

eh..like I said, I didn't really get into it. It seemed on rails to me, but I don't think I made it passed the first few missions. I might dig it out of my collection and reinstall it. Wasn't it all mission based without freeform?

<t>OK I tried the Alpha for a few hours and here are my comments:* The mouse flight is still dodgy. There is still no dead zone and there is a drift for every movement of the mouse, which makes precision flight at high speeds a complete terror. * The landing lights for space stations seem to be ...
