RE: UK Govt releases some UFO documents
Once again it is important to stress however, that UFO does not exclusively have to mean alien.UFO can just as well be highly experimental aircraft that are so classified that not even other government agencies are given knowledge of them.Just saying.

RE: Why is Space Sim Gaming so unpopular?
Yeah, I remember the stand-alone X2 expansion(That later became X3: Reunion) was originally scheduled to get release on the XB1 as well, of all platforms.Needless to say, those plans were canned quite quickly and that's not a bad thing in my opinion.

RE: What Game Have You Bought.
<t>I try not to buy an excessive amount of games these days since I have a big physical backlog which becomes even bigger if I include Steam titles, but my most recent purchase was Demon's Souls earlier today for the PS3.One of the best titles available for the PS3 and seeing how little love my PS3 ...

RE: Why is Space Sim Gaming so unpopular?
For me when I think of recent games where I have really enjoyed the story I think about Metro 2033 and Fallout: New Vegas.Of course, my opinion might be biased since I love post-apocalyptic settings!

RE: Socialized College
<t>In my opinion, it's all about balance.Letting everyone take a degree can be a problem because it can lead to a problem where we get an abundance of college graduates where there aren't enough jobs to go around, and they still refuse to take any lower jobs because of their education, leading to a ...

Personally I think if one has to ponder about whether or not to add a story, one shouldn't.A story that is added only as an after-thought is generally not a good one.

RE: Shores Of Hazeron
I remember hearing a lot about this last year on the forums for the game Dwarf Fortress, sadly the game seemed to be plagued by bad lag as well as poor balance, not sure how much things have improved these days though. It certainly is an interesting game though.

World's most hilarious conspiracy theories?
<t>No disrespect to anyone but being a skeptic myself, I am just as skeptic of the conspiracy theorists out there as I am of the media in general. But, I do love conspiracy theorists for one thing, they can be a great source of comedy. One of my favourite conspiracy theories is the one that Princess ...

RE: Mass Effect
<t>Well, personally I think Mass Effect story is overrated when it comes to games overall. It feels like your quite generic space opera story, and there are games with far better and more morally ambiguous stories out there, though Mass Effect 2 was certainly an improvement over the first game in ...

RE: Egosoft's TNBT = X: Rebirth ?
I definitely classify the X-games as a sim, so does MobyGames which is a great site.If one can call FreeSpace 2 for a space sim, then there's no reason one can't call the X-series for it either.

Personally from my experience the best writers aren't necessarily at the Triple-AAA studios as you seem to imply.I for example think that games by Obsidian generally have far better writing than by the two bigger Western RPG developers, namely Bethesda and BioWare.

<t>I have some questions.1. Will Star Ruler feature an AI delegation system ala the Space Empires games, or for more new examples, Distant Worlds or Armada 2526=2. If so, how much will you be able to delegate? Everything (to fully automate your empire) or only certain things like colony management ...
