RE: What happened? The new Space Sims.
I feel the same way...regarding both Space Sims (Freelancer & EV Nova still rules) and Space 4X games (Space Empires IV Gold, Sword of the Stars Gold and Distant Worlds - Universe).I hope people at least learned to never trust the hype and to never pre-order.

<t> That's not even funny. But there is another game called DMCA's[/url] Sky. Obviously it is the same game with Mario removed. Damn straight. Isn't satire and parody allowed under current laws?Let's see how long until either Hello Games delivers a DMCA notice.Might even be Sky ..news? ..who Hello ...

RE: Incoming Transmission - Project BlueBeam Data Link Online
<t>Sounds quite good. Will probably keep an eye on this, depending on a few questions. ,)Third person chase cam á la Freelancer? (Oh, and since Starpoint Gemini 2 I have to ask if crosshair is centered as well..?)Offline/Singleplayer? DRM? GOG? Price?Hmm, says release date sept '16. Is that for the ...

<t>Pretty nice 1st day patch. Balancing and bug eradication.Nothing about fixing crashes or similar so that's good..or bad, depending on if you are feeling positive or negative.Shame about them having an auto-aim, and still no word on a third person chase cam.I've got time to wait and hopefully the ...

It's just too bad that today's space sims all forget two of the things that made Freelancer great...Being playable offline and including a third person chase cam.

RE: No Man's Sky
<t>No sir, they are considering adding it after release. Shaun talked about it in a video. Basically they couldnt do it well enough that they liked it. They said if enough people request it, it will be part of a free update. Yes there is. At least, I saw it very shortly in one of the videos. [edit ...

<t>Bouitaz, I thought the same thing about the Witcher. Couldn't get into it. But... the Witcher 3 is amazing. I'd say play 3, then go back and play 2 because you'd know more about the background of the world. I'll put it on the backlog then. ,) It might surprise me after all. Thanks for the ...

RE: No Man's Sky
<t>Sorry, I really didn't intend to come off anywhere near that nasty. Actually, I was largely kidding when I suggested that I wish developers would deliberately not include 3rd person, sometimes tone doesn't come across so well in text. Though, I was quite serious when I said that I find it very ...

RE: No Man's Sky
<t>After reading other forums, the situation is probably this: In First Person View on planets there will be NO 3rd person view because you will not be able to see your ego.In space, onboard your ship you will be able to switch to 3rd person view (but no idea about a turn-around, fly-by view or such ...

RE: The "Correct" Control Surface for Most Games
<t>I have been so close to starting a similar thread on several forums but I always have to re-write and plan the post so it takes too long to ever complete.. I would wish that games outright told their buyers about certain fundamental truths regarding gaming aspects such as 30/60 fps, engine-locked ...

RE: Why do you play space sims?
<t>What everyone else is saying! No, really though, it's because of Escapism (getting away from the humdrum of a sad life), Yearning (The need to explore, just you and a spaceship pointed in any direction you want.), The Endless Possibilities (Be who you want to be and do what you want to do in a ...
