RE: 25 Years Of The Amiga now 30
<t>Being an old fart I owned 3 Amigas over the years, and my friend still has his old 600 somewhere. I upgraded from the Atari-ST, and it was like a breath of fresh air. The ST was the first computer I owned with a 'desktop' environment and a mouse, what a revelation after all the Commodore-64s and ...

RE: Old Amiga 3D Pics And A cobra
I love the look of the old renders there, lots of atmosphere. The third one in particular is excellent, you very rarely see shots like that due to the amount of work involved. Beautiful stuff.

RE: 3D models made real
<t>Visit http://www.shapeways.com and you can browse all the available models and see. They are not very cheap, but it does mean you can make your own real model of your own design. The price depends on the material you select (anything from sandstone, glass, plastic or metals) and how much volume ...

3D models made real
<t>I've posted this on a couple of Elite forums, so I thought I might spread the word here as well as there's quite a few modelers here as well.If you're not aware of a technology called 3D printing, it's kind of an offshoot of CNC milling machines and it allows the rapid creation of models in ...

RE: Site ident animation
<t>Yeah, the boy racer Cobra is first past the post. The idea is that they're all racing to spacesimcentral.com, so turbo cobra is first, then next it's going to be an A-wing or something similarly sleek, then the main pack and the big ships bringing up the rear. I'll use the plain cobra as well ...

I'll re-render the second half, the camera movement is way too slow and not what I'd hoped.Render times depend on how powerful your PC is, what your quality settings are ...

RE: Site ident animation
I've started rendering the next scene, about 10 seconds of animation. I've given the Cobra MkIII some nice particle exhaust blast so it's going to take all night to render.

RE: Site ident animation
<t>No worries, the header animation will be a small version at 1024 x 149 like your current one, probably an animated gif of some sort. I dont know if I'd want to use any animated header for ever page of a site, it might remind everyone too much of all those adverts you see on the web, but we'll see ...

<r>Hi all, occasional visitor and first time poster.I hang around the Frontier forums as I'm a long time Elite fan (not Frontiers, the original and best) and am also starting to make some stuff for the Pioneer project as well. I was grabbed there by Potsmoke and asked if I wouldn't mind helping out ...
