RE: 2 Nice pics from X-Rebirth and some info
<t>I'm definitely looking forward to a fresh look at the X games, so Rebirth is on my "definite watch" list.I like the X3 games, but they do tend to feel rather hollow after a time. That, and once you get a fairly sizable fleet, command and control issues (in regards to the UI) become really painful ...

RE: New Video
<r>Really great video. The effects are well done, and (more importantly) it looks fun to play. Once you get closer to release, you could drop Rock Paper Shotgun a line for some more exposure. If you haven't already, that is <E></E> I'm a fan of having fun in space AND dirtside, too few games ...

RE: StarTrek to F2P
<r>I was thinking about getting back into this a little. I managed to hit the level cap when last I played (many many months ago), but the ground combat and quite a few other things convinced me not to resubscribe. Not too sure it will be worth the download, but I admit I kind of miss the space ...

RE: X3 Albion Prelude
<t>My biggest problem with the X series has been the interface, followed by the ugliness (without mods) of large complexes. But mostly the interface.Managing a handful of ships works well enough, but managing a hundred becomes a tremendous chore without using lots of mods. Even with mods it ends up ...

<r><YOUTUBE id="BWno9UISZaU"><s></e></YOUTUBE> Great preview of the early alpha, raises some interesting points about the interface. Lots of gameplay. I'll say this ... I can't wait for the next release (some sand in our box!), which ...

Looks really fun, I like the idea of a ten-minute space strategy. Hope I can play it this week, I need more hours in the day

RE: NAEV
<t>Just have to say: NAEV 0.5 is really frackin' fun so far. I'm not too skilled at the combat right now, but I do alright. As far as being 2D versus 3D, I couldn't care less. If it's fun, I'll play it and enjoy it. But then, I grew up on text-based games that existed before the Web, so maybe I'm ...

RE: The Lacuna Expanse
Some of my buds on the Bay 12 (Dwarf Fortress) forums mentioned this game as being different, and better, than the other dozens of space-oriented browser games. If I can fit another game onto my plate, I'll definitely give this one a try soon. I've bookmarked it for later anyway.

RE: STO is cheap on Amazon
<t>I'm sure STO will go free to play if Champions makes more cash as a free to play game. Which I suspect it will.Heck, the current STO model irritates the crap out of me: pay subscription fee, then pay more if you want certain costumes for your captain or your ship ... plus XP boosts (seriously ...

<t>The D'Kyr does indeed look awesome. Always liked that design.I've been having fun so far; got my LtCmdr Tac officer to Rear Admiral (Lower Half) - 2 in fairly short order, flying around in a Sovereign like a boss.Been playing a Klingon lately (Engineer) and having fun, though the huge dearth of ...

RE: My thoughts on STO
<t>I played STO for 60 days a long while back. Probably three months after it came out. I liked the space stuff a lot, REALLY enjoyed the Starbase 24 (?) fleet action. Loved fighting alongside other players in a huge battle without having to join a group, you could help each other out and travel in ...

Looks like it's down to $7.99 now. The "digital deluxe" download is around $14.99 at Amazon, Steam, D2D etc.

RE: To Buy or Not To Buy
My plan is to wait a bit for the price to drop. If the developers aren't supporting the game actively, then I'm not willing to pay full price for something that's likely unfinished or incredibly buggy. It sounds fantastic, though, very ambitious. I like the ideas presented.
