RE: FreeOrion
<r>Unfortunately I never tried free Orion - probably will now <E>:)</E>. Anyway, one of the most critical decisions in the original MOO was, in my experience, Research. I started by researching tech that gave me the ability to have more RPs - either through increased productivity, increased range ...

RE: What Game Have You Bought.
Just finished Alice: Madness Returns. Gameplay is not outstanding, but the story telling, scenario and innovation more than makes up for it. Great game!

RE: Share your most disappointing game purchases
Well, I'm rarely "disappointed" with games as I rarely buy them on launch/pre order. But sometimes we all get a bit duped. But with tones of games, it is easy just to let go and move on. Anyway, the worse of my recent disappointments was probably Goduz. Had potential, but too bad.

RE: A rant on the new Star Wars canon and "TFA SPOILERS"
<r>I liked the movie. But imho it is not a good movie. It is a "Star Wars" movie - in that regard it has a better feeling than the previous ones (Ep. I, II, III) but not really good. Some nice touches but lots of wasted opportunity. My main issue is with the argument. I don't mind the nostalgia play ...

<r>Both Decent Underground and EverSpace asked for similar amount and just made and then there was Starfighter Inc which looked like it going to do it but failed right at the end.But they are doing well as they are over the $90K mark now and I would not be too surprised to see them at the half way ...

<t>300k is not all that much of a hurdle if one takes into account the number of times that the i-novae engine has been "shown" around. Gameplay to be seen, but graphics are quite publicized. Tbqh, and not bein familiar with "larger" recent KS project fate, I'd have set my goal more on the 500k to ...

RE: The End Game - Derek Smart
<t>I've been watching Star Citizen unfold with some interest, merely from a business perspective. The campaign was gaining traction just as my M.B.A. program was entering full swing, and crowdfunding was something that really wasn't covered in my curriculum other than a cursory nod (it was still a ...

<t>I'm a SC backer. Sub #20k on the forum, so as you can guess, an early backer. Never bothered to even download the hangar, and not the other stuff neither. Have a few posts on SC forums, mostly about Elite :p. Which I seldomly played - but will play when it is ready to be played by me (Horizons ...

How to build a universe.. or at least planets
<r>Hi everyone, although I was tempted to post this on Horizon thread - and mods if it is better there please move it - I found the livestream video about the horizon expansion focused on the planetary generation very interesting for astronomy geeks (actually more than to gamers). <YOUTUBE id ...

RE: Descent: Underground
Interestingly, although I did play the original Descent back in the day (1994 or whatever), it never capture my interest. Although I though it to be a great technical achievement (far from the Frontier level though) I still much prefer the openness of space :p But i hope it becomes a good game.

<t>Batman Arkham city GOTYE edition. ... That is a quite good game. I actually finished it with discovering all the riddles (I still wonder hoe that hell did I managed to get enough patience for that...). Regarding gaming, as my Steam account goes over 500 games (mostly cheapo bundle stuff) I'm ...

RE: Derek Smart Blog About Star Citizen
<r>I think the fundamental problem with Star Citizen is that people's expectations are not only so high, but (perhaps more importantly) so variegated, that anything they do will ultimately be seen by many as a failure. One of the problems with SC is that IMO CIG rode and fed the hype train. All that ...

<t>ExpandingMan, you raise good points, and being a offline game would allow ED to be quite different in many small but very significant aspects (different balancing, maybe the return of time compression / better transition between "speeds"), that all combined would also produce a quite distinct ...
