@pinback I upgraded to an AMD 5800X and a nVidia 4070, and 32GB a couple of years ago. Upgrading to a new AM5 platform would offer me an 15% to 20% increase in framerate, in 1080p!! Less for higher resolution gaming!! (In reality I still use an 60Hz 1080p TV for monitor, so I think anything higher ...

@classyk More of an "Ace Combat" player nowadays!! Although sometimes I fire up Strike Fighters 2 or CFS2!!

@classyk To many buttons!!!! Seriously, I had "Shuttle: The Space Flight Simulator" for Amiga ([url]https://amiga.abime.net/games/view/shuttle-the-space-flight-simulator),[/url] in its original box!! But I couldn't get past the first mission: Landing on the runway!!!!

I moved away from hardware, but I installed Win98, on a virtual machine, running on pcem!! Pentium II 450MHz with Voodoo III. I had a similar configuration for real: PIII 700M Hz and Voodoo III.

@classyk I may try porting it some day!! I found myself with some more free time on my hands lately (retired after 35 years of service) and picked up a book about C++!! Although I would use AMOS for Amiga games!! And no I still haven't finished Liberation!!

 I had an Amiga at the time, and never encountered it, until I switched to PC, in 1997!! I do not think anyone ported it to Amiga!!

@pinback Had to download a 25GB Demo, then I had to DL a 25GB update!! Over mobile internet!!!

@pinback from what I 've read, it's something of a next gen amiga running on arm, under emulation (Amiberry). Altgough the Amiga graphics API, runs native. It is more of a professional solution, than a game console.

@pinback Why? If you have a newer version of Windows installed (7, 10, 11) the game will use a newer executable!!

@pinback Install Freespace 2 (from GoG or disks) and then install knossos.net ([url]https://fsnebula.org/knossos/).[/url]
You can then install FS1 with FS2 Enhanced graphics!!!
