RE: anyone still playing this?
<t>I agree. F2P can work when it's designed into the game from the outset, but I think it really hurts the integrity of the game when developers make the switch. I've played almost every subscription MMOG there is, and stopped when it's gone F2P. The only exception has been D&DO, which perhaps ...

Curious as to what veterans thought the best space game on the Spectrum was, aside from Elite. I was rather partial to the Tau Ceti games.

<t>Gazillion were supposed to be the big investors that pushed JGE to release, but I sense they were more interested in the big licenses like Lego and Marvel. After JG Evol was pulled back from going beta in Spring 2009 (it wouldn't have fared well with the sandbox gamers) and things started ...

I've played a lot of Spectrum games through the years but I don't remember that one. Looks very Ballblazer-y.

PlaySF - available now
<t>Hello all!PlaySF isn't a game, but it is a commercial indie project about games. I hope the powers-that-be are not too upset that I announce its availability here. PlaySF is actually a magazine, specifically about space and sci-fi games - no wizards, orcs or Nazis allowed (unless they are of the ...

<t>What I like about this news, apart from the idea of having ships in the game itself, is it suggests SOE are somewhat more committed to the idea of developing the game post-launch than was the case with the original. Hopefully the ships will have multiple stations. Better still, the game will ...

I read on Blue's News yesterday that EA weren't adverse to exhuming old IPs. WingCo wasn't mentioned, but if both Roberts and EA are open to the possibility, then who knows where things could lead?http://www.bluesnews.com/s/124676/ea-revival-possibilities

<r>Hi AlexWhen it comes to games it's fair to say that Russia is winning the space race and devs from beyond the old iron curtain have for the last decade been far more inspired by space than western studios. It would be interesting to research why that is. Is it a matter of resources (that a space ...

A Facebook game would make a lot of sense, especially given the noises EA have been making about social networked games and spending all that money on PopCap. Given that games are now arriving on Google+ I wonder if it might also be "cross platform"
