RE: X4 - Cradle of Humanity DLC
<t>It's sure that Egosoft has improved the series since the initial X series through X-Rebirth and Foundations, but I wonder if the company will ever make the big step and include planet exploration and station building planetside in the game, all other good space games like No Man's Sky or Elite ...

RE: Ad Astra
<t>It's been a long time, more than 8 years, and I haven't posted here since, but I still play Ad-Astra, one of my favorite free space games. The UI is something to get used to, and once you have made the right 'Input' and 'Preferences' settings you can quickly get into this game. I'd like to give ...

RE: Orbital map and ETA calculations
<t>Thank you very much nozmajner for your response and details. I have read the link before posting and figured out that you need to be in the 'Coasting' phase for these 5 tabs to make any sense, despite of that I was never able to plan a maneuver with them, but the flying UI in the Front View gives ...

<r>Hi nozmajner,<br/>
I very appreciate your feedback, tyvm.<br/>
For anyone partecipating in the development, I do understand that asking such questions appears to be sort of arrogance, but in my case it's just lack of knowledge of what is feasable in terms of programing. Unaware of what can be ...

Can a ship be modded to act like an exploration rover on a body?
<t>I'm surprised that this question doesn't come-up more often, but I'm convinced that the title idea is impossible to achieve, else I think we would see it in Pioneer already. So, a land rover or even an avatar in 1st person mode walking on a body which both technically act as a 'ship' is this ...

RE: The Long Journey Home
<t>Hi,I'm currently looking at two rogue-like games, Everspace which is combat-centered, and this one TLJH which has the different and interesting scope of being a non-hero that struggles with ever lacking ressources and dangers in the hope to reach Earth again after a miss-jump to some far place in ...

List of space games that trully represent space
<t>Hello,I'm looking for space games that do represent space most accurately in size simulated, distances and time to travel, realistic orbits and most existing space objects included. It must be a game, not an astronomical simulation (like SpaceEngine). Also all objects must be 'real bodies' in the ...

RE: Pathfinder v1.2 Update to No Mans Sky
<t>Hi DarkOne,yes, I think it's worth to buy now, especially because on GOG or Steam they have reduced price by 40% (see EDIT). The Pathfinder is a huge addition, the base building stuff is doubled, you can own more ships and trade them in, the whole item upgrade system has changed to be more ...

<t>I've been playing the game for about 1 month now with the newest update mentioned above.I want to give my player report without spoiling anything of course, and also giving a comment wether the game is worth 60 bucks or not and what needs to be improved. I will divide my comment by 'The Good' and ...

The Wing Commander series have a very good storyline, but such a playing style contradicts free roaming...you will have to follow the story - and the series of missions.XenonS

RE: Looking for a singleplayer space sim!
<t>The mixture you want probably doesn't exist yet, you will have to wait for Star Citizen, but it will mainly be a multiplayer game. As for No Man's Sky: With the recent update (see my post in its section), a 'lot' has been added since the rather poor start, so you may want to look again for it ...

RE: Looking for a singleplayer space sim!
<t>Hi hypn0tist,There are a lot of games that can fit your requirements, but no one will shine in all your points, but more in ones and less in others. Because you don't seem to require a high quality of space 'combat' in particular, but more exploration and variety of ships and sectors, I will ...

<t>I'm glad that Egosoft is working on a new title, but let's face it, and I won't hide my words. Also I know this is only a non-committed preview message from EGO."A real X4...many new ships to fly...build stations from individual modules...manage large fleets".Yes these features would certainly ...

RE: Why no 3000AD games?
<r>I played a lot Universal Combat years ago. Once you get to understand the key/menu commands and playing mechanics the game starts to rock...But I agree you need a lot of patience to get there. What's really a blame is that all the fps part on planets is broken: or there's nothing to do or the ...

RE: What happened? The new Space Sims.
<t>I'm a fan of the Just Cause series, they have a huge open world where you can do FP fights against a good AI, a lot of cars, planes, boats, car races, plane races...Crazy things to do...Whilst playing I sometimes wish they had included an extension to play in space, replacing their magic ...
