Nice will be keeping a look out for the update :good: and I agree with Geraldine I also find the game relaxing to play compared to a lot other similar games.

Note: Humble builds will be available as soon as they upload them on their end. I'm hoping that will be by tomorrow (Saturday) some time but regardless I will post an update once they are. Everyone that has gotten the game through Kickstarter or Humble should be able to get the game on Steam in the meantime if they're itching to play Hey SSC! After perhaps far too long Drifter 0.6.0 (code name "Narcissus") has been released! This is a very substantial update that includes a large number of improvements, additions, and bug fixes to the game.As well, considering the under the hood changes I've taken the time to make in 0.6.0, I am working to avoid any more long development delays and get to actually completing Drifter some time before 2015 is out (hopefully much sooner than that of course). In fact, my current plan is to deliver many smaller updates with a turn around time of 2-3 weeks from here on out until the game is finished. Some highlights of this update include:- Initial space station interiors- 5 new ships- New ship equipment icons- A large number of user interface improvements both under the hood and visually- Initial keyboard support for GUI interaction (with controller support coming soon)For the full details, check the release notes page on the wiki: http://celsiusgs.com/drifter/wiki/Current_Build_and_Known_Bugs save games from 0.5.3 should still work with 0.6.0.Enjoy!

Drifter 0.6.1 is out on Humble and Steam! The biggest change for 0.6.1 is the UI overhaul started in 0.6.0 is now nearly complete. Most of the UI in the game now supports keyboard and gamepad interaction. It's not quite 100% but it should be pretty good for couch gaming at this point. We've also updated and added a number of new item and equipment icons. In addition to this there are a large number of UI improvements and bugfixes, you can get the full details in the release notes page on the wiki: http://celsiusgs.com/drifter/wiki/Current_Build_and_Known_Bugs save games from 0.6.0 should still work with 0.6.1.

Hey again! Just letting you all know that we've started a little thing we're calling "The Year of Drifter"! Basically we really want to try and get Drifter done sooner rather than later and it feels like the end, while still a little ways off, is in sight. So for the rest of the year we're going to push really hard to try and get the game done and celebrate that development along the way. As part of the start of this we've started a little 17% off sale on the game which ends tomorrow, so there's still a chance to get in on that if you're interested: http://store.steampowered.com/app/259450 Also you can read more about The Year of Drifter over here: http://steamcommunity.com/games/259450/announcements/detail/83663820327280870

Good luck with this CGSColin. I hope you get plenty of sales. Still a great game to relax with. Only two other games can match it in this, one is Pioneer and the other is Take On Mars. Just what I need to unwind after a hectic day at work. You named your game well CGSColin :queen:

All I can say is that at about the same time that I backed both Kinetic Void and Drifter on kickstarter. TBH Colin is the one that is continuing to fulfill what was offered, while Kinetic Void made a 3D modular ship builder and then more or less folded. I know the troll guy states that he will continue working on it, but I have my doubts at whether or not he is capable unlike colin, and the troll guy burned through a great deal more monies to make a 3d modular ship building program that kinda works, along with simulating the vast emptiness of space. Well, he was a good talker, just not a good doer, which may now explain why he was at loose ends and proposed Kinetic Void.... we'll see if he comes up with anything in the future, beyond the ugly mess that is the unfinished yet released kinetic void. But enough with my digressing, back to drifter. Colin has done more than I expected of his project and it's still going strong. Good job Colin!

Early access is a gamble same as Kickstarter and it is as much a double edged sword for the developer as well as the buyer. Back to Drifter and Humble have finally given me my Steam key so lets hope we start seeing the promised regularly updates.

Hey! Still alive and kicking :) Should be another update coming out this week! Despite my own feelings that I could be releasing updates even more regularly I honestly appreciate the kind words and vote of confidence.

Drifter 0.6.2 is finally out on Steam and Humble! I'm also planning on doing a two-track update approach going forward to try and avoid stalling out like this again :) You can check out the release notes for the update over here: http://celsiusgs.com/drifter/wiki/Current_Build_and_Known_Bugs#0.6.2 here's a little preview of what's new in the update:

Hello again! Just wanted to let folks know that Drifter 0.6.3 is out and 0.7.0 is coming soon! Featuring a number of quality of life improvements, new icon artwork, and a number of bug fixes you can get the details of what’s new and fixed on the wiki: http://celsiusgs.com/drifter/wiki/Current_Build_and_Known_Bugs 0.7.0 and BeyondThank you for your continued patience as we work towards 0.7.0. Despite my attempts at trying to increase the frequency of updates we have fallen behind in that regard and I apologize for that. The good news is we have been able to focus on finalizing all of the design work for Drifter 1.0 over the last few months and I feel like there’s finally a clear path for finishing the game.Drifter 0.7.0 should be finalized in the next few weeks which will finally see the replacement of the placeholder planet textures with procedurally generated ones, the introduction of the Material Synthesis system, and the introduction of the frequently-hinted-at spatial anomalies which will add a new element of exploration to the game.Once Drifter 0.7.0 is out, I feel like there are maybe 3 or 4 major updates left before we hit 1.0 and the game is finished. With the major design work out of the way most of what is left is implementation, and we’re going to push for a major update every 4 weeks. I realize it’s been difficult for us to maintain a consistent schedule but I really want to get the game to 1.0 and properly released and the only way to do this is to keep pushing for it.That said, Drifter 1.0 is not going to mean the end of development on the game because there’s still a lot of things I’m hoping to add to the game post-release but I feel like this is a necessary step and it’s been a long time coming. In the meantime, enjoy some concept art Sven has been working on for three new station facilities we’re adding leading up to 1.0!

Nice update Colin and great art assets for the game. 0.7.0 seems like it is going to be a great feature release and milestone for you.... almost there. So is it safe to say we might see 1.0 sometime in the summer? Just an odd question, do you plan on having time sensitive or perishable goods in the market? So maybe depending on how quickly you get the good to market you could make a huge payday.
