fluffyfreak - Thank you for the reply! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />I think I understand the basic information.I know enough English to translate the game. And in the game check and correct translation. But I'm not always understand 100% written and difficult to many read large texts such as FAQ, etc. <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_sad.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />I think - I found the way to edit the lua-files.And I found where to put Russian.txthttps://github.com/ (right? - HeadHunterEG - it's my nick)But I can't figure out - how to upload Russian.txt in /data/lang.My system Win7SP1x64Max.

That's because you don't so much "upload" it as add it to your Git repo.On your personal Pioneer page here there is a button labelled "Clone In Windows". Clicking it will take you to http://windows.github.com/ which has a "download 1.0" link in the top right. This is basically getting you setup to use Git in windows for your projects. What this will do is allow you do get your copy of Pioneer into a folder on your own machine. That'll take a bit less than 200MB last time I checked.

This part is where you will have to do some investigating yourself because I don't use GitForWindows since I started before it was launched! We work by creating a "branch", then we make changes on that branch and submit pull requests. So the first thing you need to figure out is how to create a branch using GitForWindows. When you've done that move onto the next step below. You need to put the russian language txt you've created into the "[background=rgb(33, 47, 58)]/data/lang[/background]" folder on your machine, and then "add" it to to the repo, you then "commit" your changes (which should just be adding that one file) and finally you "push" your changes. That last step is the one which actually uploads your changes to GitHub so that everyone else can see them. Until that point everything has been happening locally on your PC.Now, you can create a Pull Request from your machine or, and this is how I do it, you can go to your repo on GitHub, switch to your branch using the "branch: master" dropdown, and then click the "Pull Request" button at the top. The rest is filling out forms but most of it should be automatically filled in for you.In the left boxes it should say things like:"base repo: pioneerspacesim/pioneer""base branch: master"and on the right it should say:"head repo: HeadHunterEG/pioneer""head branch: whatever_you_called_your_branch"Then you right your description and finally hit the "send pull request" button. It will then appear in the pioneer pull request list. That all sounds like a lot but it becomes easy very quickly! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_biggrin.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

fluffyfreak - a great big thank you! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//good.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':good:' />I suspected that there is a special program.I'll try to do it later. <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//preved.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':preved:' />

Greetings! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//hi.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hi:' />I think I did it. <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//king.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':king:' />I Uploaded changes to my branch (?) and clicked the "Pull Request". <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//comando.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':comando:' />I hope I did it right. <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//ph34r.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ninja:' />P.S.> Brian Ronald told me that everything is OK, but Pioneer's included fonts do not include Russian glyphs. And this will be fixed.Thank you all. =)(Rus: Т.е.

<img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//hi.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hi:' />

You know... a simple Text Web Interface built into the game would be extremely useful... off the top of my head a simple Wiki would be an amazing "Ship's Log" and as far as I know Language and translation are already mostly solved problems there. While not exactly multiplayer, it would also make it relatively simple to cooperatively explore the Galaxy, find good trade routes, resource rich systems, hidden pirate bases...Just something to add to the wishlist... <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Is it possible to make a vertical landing outside of the port?

Yes. Put your wheels down, and gently, slowly, lower onto the ground. Your ship must be parallel to the horizon, not the ground underneath you.Use either Set Speed mode or Manual Control mode.

Unless on a high G planet... then the safety net of Set Speed can be useful to stop you (warning: technical term incoming) splatting.

Yes, if you thrust down when your speed is set to 0, then it will return to zero (as fast as it can compensate) when you stop thrusting. So you can make a nice gentle landing. If you go manual, and thrust down, you can end up going faster than you intended, and have to scrabble for the up thrust to compensate.

I do the same kind of thing but thrusting up with partial thrusters set to 1 to 10% depending on local gravity.I'd love some proper tailsitter ships to take advantage of the rear engine's higher thrust... will the new model system handle that?

nope (it's 99% not model system related anyway)That said, it would be interesting to at least launch a ship like a rocket.

Vertical landing pads, maybe? A few quick HowTos on making custom stations, cities and things like that would actually be quite helpful in my quest to bring Megastructures to the game...

Thrust down, when you have all that handy gravity? Why waste the fuel?

One way to achieve a tail-sitter would be to rotate the entire model as part of the landing gear animation. Unfortunately, the strength of various thrusters wouldn't be consistent, and as far as I know there's no way to modify them as part of the animation. That said, it's something the new model system might be able to do. Not my area, though...
