We've had some collaboration with the guys from Manufactorum in the early stages of SPG2 production. They've done some early modelling work for us and we're actually working out an idea with them for a tabletop version of Starpoint Gemini setting. It's in very VERY early stages. We're taking our time since the computer game comes first
. I hope this answers your question.
Well... actually I might as well ask... what do you think about the idea of a tabletop Starpoint Gemini?
RE: so, um, a quick question about your affiliates
That sounds interesting Dorijan, there is a table top game based on Elite Dangerous also in the works. There is no denying that these games still have a following. There is even (two I think) Games Workshop stores here in Glasgow that sell nothing else. Yes, they are still popular.

yeah, I'm definitely for a tabletop game, me and my friend are putting together a game room with a 6' by 4' table for such games

Are we talking like Warhammer style wargaming or more DnD and traveller roleplaying?

Interesting idea for expanding the SPG universe.

@ Darkmaster923 , I would assume it's more like Battlefleet Gothic (RIP) , although a space-based tabletop game focusing on individual ships rather than fleets would make for a unique game (all the others that I know of are fleet base strategy games)

Two most promising so far are fleet-fights in Warhammer style with card-based customization of each ship. And the second option is more "zoomed out", something like a tabletop 4X. As I said, very early

Well... actually I might as well ask... what do you think about the idea of a tabletop Starpoint Gemini?Hi Dorijan, i like that idea - but maybe a pc version of that tabletop game first - you know lack of friends with same interests within 100km...would it be something like that real ol' "renegade legion interceptor" ? (got the amiga version - it was also a conversion of a tabletop game)it was basically a squad based game ie max 6v6 fighterstyle ships that can be purchased or designed from scratch using a kind of requisition points that pilots earned in their carrer (and also some pilot & gunnery ratings)here my fancy name for it:Starpoint Gemini Wing Commander *duck&cover* from the incoming cease&desist letters

If we have the rules and the ships and the general setting and so on... sure, why not make a more strategy oriented game
. Of course, it all depends on the available time and as always... finances. There's a whole lot we want to do. We'll see what we get around to actually doing :DStarpoint Gemini - Wing Commander First contact - Starcraft edition... just to cover all bases of potential law suits
