Ok, I give.
I've been passing by this on GOG a lot lately but I'm considering breaking my own rules and picking it up while it's still in development.

Don't have this one myself but I see it's on sale on Steam until the 7 of March, might be worth picking up.
I do have the first game but never played it much.

And another devlog

I wonder how far away this game is from release. I have it, but no desire to update every so often, at this point I want to give it a go when it launches.

Same here ^^
IMHO these many videos are just part of the dev's project management routine: work for two weeks (could be a Scrum sprint) then document the changes in a video. Gamasutra is full of tips about how to sustain long development times, everyone has their own method I guess!

To be Honest D.C. I hope it gets some targeted changes. When I tried it... there were a few things I found to be less than enticing, and they seemed kind of rookie mistakes. It's little things, for example, the clutter on the map to the limited but pointless walking around on a station...
But, I will be fair and wait for a true release before revisiting it and forming definitive opinions.

Still holding firm on this and waiting for release. On the one hand, I do appreciate a developer paying attention to detail and making the necessary adjustments to a game... on the other though, unless I specifically sign up to beta test... I have no desire to go through these revisions as a player.
Let me be more precise. I was involved heavily wit IS:G, both during its pre-alpha days and for a short time after its release. I saw that game evolve, and most aspects really needed the revisions, but each time it happened, I had to unlearn a section of the game and re-learn it anew, (how it worked and interacted with the game environment). During that time I was fine with it as I had consciously made the decision to be a part of it, but, (and this is a big but), I can see where it would be a turn-off to many players.
So for this game, which is sitting in my library, I'm just going to stand firm until we get to actual release.

Well he is certainly persistent, I'll give him that. The thing is I really do believe that a developer can do more harm than good to his/her product by taking such a protracted road with changes and Devlogs. A player can be left with the impression that the game was put out to the public too soon, or even that the dev is uncertain about the direction of the game. I know I speak for myself here, but I doubt I'm the only gamer that feels this way.
Please, wake me up when we get to Devlog 100, we'll celebrate the milestone
