Is there a simple way to change the way the HUD and interface? I was looking around for how to mod Pioneer and all I could find was ways to change game assets. Is there a simple way to tweak the interface like that? I was flying around and thinking it would be really nice to have more numbers available, actual deltaV instead of a fuel bar, hull/weapon temp in kelvin instead of a heat bar, escape velocity of the current reference body and probably a few other things...Also, is there a way to add a "Telescope View" basically the same as the Sidereal View but first person?

First person sidereal view?You mean with the centre of the view where the ship is but fixed looking in a specific direction regardless of how the ships maneuvers?The ui has recently been overhauled but I think that's a question for robn

Yeah, that's exactly the kind of view I had in mind <img src="'[url]http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif[/url] class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> If you could make the facing indicator from the mouse control permanent that would be nice, too. In general I'd just like to be able to play around with different interface ideas and I was wondering where to start.

The bleeding edge of the new user interface is here. There's nothing new on the HUD yet, but in time all of those elements will be incorporated. Basically, what you're hoping for isn't really possible yet: The user interface is being rewritten, and all of the code that renders the HUD right now is considered legacy code.The good news is that the new UI provides a pretty comprehensive Lua interface. It's sweet.

My way to test is playing Pioneer missions.I tried #1633, but still I can not see the missions accepted by problems fixed column width.

Walter, that's why it isn't even in the alpha testing stage yet. If you want to test missions, use master. If you want to test or work on the new UI, use new-ui.

I am a "compulsive tester".And everything I try I try to improve it, if I can.It is the best way to play Pioneer, as you may know.

That's pretty clear, thanks Walterar, however you want to put that onto the issues list.Burying it 7 pages deeps within an unrelated thread on the forum isn't going to help!

They're not buried, they just take time to get too. At least if they're on there they stand a chance of being worked on whereas on here... they don't.

Actually its just that the layout isn't yet expressive enough to do the right thing. I'm working on it.You know very well that the tracker is where we track things, not here - we don't read this forum in detail. Perhaps you're still cut about the time you tried to spam the tracker and I wrote a script to auto-delete your posts? Do the right thing and there won't be a problem.
