How to use - Sound File ReplacementLast but not least and assuming your download of the russian sound file completed, extract the contents of that archive (gf_sounds.grp and main.fat) into the packages directory of your Precursors installation. WinRAR should warn you about overwriting files, but that is exactly what we want here. In this example: Extract to C:\Program Files\Precursors\Packages and overwrite the existing files. Again, your paths might be different and it is highly recommended you make a backup of the two affected files somewhere. Also, since you'll now have russian dialogue everywhere, you likely will want to grab the Unofficial Translation Patch. Should you already be using it to fix the awkward, english text - you're done already. Start the game and enjoy a much better gameplay atmosphere and no more sounds dropping out.

Nice one Corwyn hopefully that will be of some help to those who have bought the Gamergate version of the game.

The main point is that everyone should upgrade to 1.1 - it is a big difference (at least was for me).I posted some summary here:http://www.spacesimcentral.com/the-precursors-f42/official-english-game-issues-and-impressions-t1671.html

Nice one kolbaszosfank hopefully between these two post most of the games running problems should be sorted out.Its strange but I can’t say that I have had that many problems with the game, maybe because I’am running it on older system.

Thanks. I am running it on a dual core 3Gig, Ati radeon hd 5770.V1.0 - fps was low, mouse control awful (I felt that the mouse is somehow disconnected from the events on screen), when I tried to turn around with the mouse, the screen was "jumpy" - the movement was not constant. The light was flickering like hell (the Ati issue)on the same system, no new drivers, whatsoeverV1.1 - SMOOTH fps, mouse control is good, responsive (need ini tweak to turn off the acceleration (you CAN NOT turn off the mouse acceleration in 1.0 even with the ini tweak)). No light issue. As you can se for me this update is a real difference. First I tought that the update does not worth the trouble, since the readme only contains some minor bugfixes, but I am sure they made some major fixes as well.

The problem is that the English version is based on 1.0 and while it seems that it can be patched, I think the 1.1 copy protection will then prevent it from running. So does anyone have a 1.1 nocd crack?

I OWN the english version, and I am forced to use a "backup" copy - forced by the ignorance of the publisher which released something without patch when the patch was ALREADY available!!! So... get the 1.1 russian version from the net (HINT: TRIVIUM), and follow the instructions I posted here in the topic below. Works perfectly! http://www.spacesimcentral.com/the-precursors-f42/official-english-game-issues-and-impressions-t1671.html

I think this version contains a Trojan.

I am sure that is a false positive. But if you are paranoid (like me) then run the keygen in a sandbox (i did the same) - just to be on the safe side. http://www.sandboxie.com/ A brilliant tool - I use it often and it never let me down. One of the best use is that you can run your browser sandboxed when your are browsing "suspicious" content.I highly recommend it.

(Further into the thread that contains the sound files, you will also find a download link for the extracted, english cutscenes if you would rather just download them instead of extracting them yourself or should you want to replace the ones from your russian version with those. You can skip a lot of the following text then.)
For reference, here is the link to those English cutscenes, extracted from grp file:http://www.moddb.com/games/the-precursors/addons/english-voices-for-cutscenesmirrors:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UN4SUOH7http://depositfiles.com/files/flp9axhaqJust unpack to game folder. It will make new SOUNDS folder with English cutscene voices.
