I felt compelled to pledge money for both Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen. It gives us a chance to play a small part in the history of these potentially great games. For just how long have you all been dreaming of Braben's return? I'm assuming this project is in lieu of Elite IV (why did Braben not use the latter title?) I too hope there will be planetary landings and I simply don't care about system requirements; I'll just buy a machine specifically for the job. I have to say, Star Citizen certainly whets the appetite somewhat. If you haven't seen the video yet on Kickstarter's website, you ought to.

Have they said there will be seamless planet landings?
OMFG I'm seized by an horrible doubt this morning. There will be seamless planet landings, yes ? YES ???There MUST be seamless planet landings, 'cause it's a key feature to me. Seriously, I'll be more than disapointedif D.B release his game without this <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//hang3.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hang:' /> <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//cray.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I know what you mean there seems to be a lot of questions about the game and very few answers coming from Frontier.

Patience guys! The answers are coming. Its only been two days since the announcement. Remember how long we have waited for Elite IV, so whats a few more days? FAQ sections are open at the Frontier Forum so keep checking them. Updates have been promised.

To be honest I don't have too much trust in this project, or hope. It just seems to be one of those "let's make a game for the sake of it and use a popular title to make it stand out in the crowd". Don't flame me for it, it's just my honest opinion <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I hope so...for I was thinking they were cashing in on the nostalgia alone! Can't remember the last time I saw a Kickstarter page start so barren.

Good to see that they are posting screen shots and vid tomorrow but just comparing it to Roberts campaign it makes Frontiers effort look a bit amateurish.

Looks like DB is going to need c. 17-18k a day at this rate. I agree though, Star Citizen is already looking far superior. Well chaps, we really are going to be spoiled for choice with all these titles on the go. I wonder what people are looking forward to the most? But that name: 'Elite' always succeeds as a kind of trump card in my imagination, defeating and thereby relegating all pretenders to second-class status. Good luck DB!

Very true for us old one <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_lol.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Elite will be forever associated with the game but for younger gamer they tend to associate the name with a FPS man shooter.Just seen this interview that DB did with Eurogamer http://www.eurogamer...ing-braben-says this quote

Quote:
Millionaire Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson was easily convinced, though. “Well, ok then! Throwing all my money at a new Elite game by David Braben,” he Tweeted earlier today. But how much? “I'm not sure it's on to reveal such things,” Braben said, laughing, “but it's fair to say it was more than £5.”
Looks like they will be having dinner and talking about space game.

I would like ABBA at the launch party.Dark one is going to have to give up on the day job to maintain lists of new space sims coming forward.

Mmmm yes ABBA were good, but for a "proper retro vibe, it's gotta be Led Zeppelin! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' />

I have been slacking when it comes to the game listing and it needs updating badly, and it is quite a time consuming task that is. I will get too it, yeah seeing all these games makes me think that maybe, just maybe SSC might have a hand in bring all this interest back <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
