this could work for now, i started with the original hoop and updated it a bit with a new outer hoop i also altered the connecting parts and re-textured it [url]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/98265626/newHoop_spacestation.7z[/url] contains the max file, psd file and the exported .DAE's and .PNG's and .model file (currently named newhoop_spacestation)

updated it a bit with some navlight nodes, tweaked the texture and cleaned up the collision mesh [url]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/98265626/hoop_spacestation.7z[/url] and its all named and ready to replace the hoop station for those that want it now

That's very nice! :good:It would also be a nice touch if solar panels have a reflective surface. :)

thanks guys, @Tichy yea now that you say that i see what you mean, there isn't a specular map on there but it wouldn't be to hard to put one together to highlight the solar panels or they could get there own material with a higher specular setting (just thinking out loud here so i dont forget by the time i get home)

Heh heh, I'd hate to try that in lua! I wonder if it really needs that Coriolis polygon in the center. As I recall, Frontier had an eight sided cylinder in the middle of the hoop station. I'm sure you can do it much better. It also needs windows and better textures, I think. I'm still getting myself up to speed in Blender, but I hope to be able to contribute soon. Anyway, Great work! :biggrin:
