NucNuc, what is this 'downloader' that you have mentioned several times? Also, torn-stars.com doesn't have a captcha for downloads, yet you couldn't download it from there, correct?

Just as I post this I'm trying to dl the zip file again with firefox 3.5.1 fromTorn Stars.com and spacesimcentral.com.And the download from Torn Stars just stopped after 6.62 MB.An atempt with orbit downloader, which comes almost by itself with firefox, from here stopped after 5.57 MB.The attemp without orbit is still going on with something about 50 to 70 kb/sec.(

I'ma bit confused, today there is no captcha for the download, as it has been during the weekend.

)Sorry, just read the post in the Maintenance area. Thanks for your attemp to help Darkone.

Just curious NucNuc, when you are downloading this file how long does it take to download the 85mb? Just wondering if your timeout out with your connection? Something you could try Nuc is the following:1. Logout of the site2. See the link at the bottom of the page that says 'Delete all board cookies' click it.3. If you know how to, go into your web browsers cache and do a search for anything related to 'spacesim' and delete it.4. Close the browser and re-open it.5. Login to SSC and have a good day. What this will do is totally remove anything related to SSC that could be old or a cookie could prevent you from doing things as well. This is just something to try.

Do my best. Plus I want to make sure it's not my doing

I'm still pretty new to websites and editing code so I code also mess things up as well.

Any updates on the progress of either Torn Stars or Unstable Space mods or has this project turned into vapor-ware?

I am the only developer left, and not a coder. The final version of US requires a chunk of dynamic NPC ai code to be completed. It is about 75% done. But it is not done. I am vainly holding out hope that one of our retired coders will wrap it up one day, but hopes are dwindling. Eventually I will replace that code with some old static type code that functions, albeit a little boringly. That is basically where we are at. Anyone know any C+ coding geniuses? As from what I have been told POG is similar to C+Just one really skilled coder could bring the whole US project to a successful conclusion with my help.

Well that blows chunks!

Are you talking about the traffic between stations and systems or the very basic AI? I wish GrandpaTrout would've been able to finish the mod. I don't know of any coders either. Maybe someone on this site can help us get this mod completed.

I may just have to keep advertising the fact that there is a very cool mod, very near completion, that just needs a little coding expertise to wrap up. Maybe someone out there might have the skills and desire to lend a hand. This is the site, if any, where such a person would be found.

I have been checking the (torn stars) site every week since you started it hoping for some progress.Maybe a help wanted ad on the home page of this website would help.Just know their are those of us out here who are still waiting-and can't wait for you to post the new game.ThanksBob

Hello, sorry if this has been mentioned already, I just wanted to know if unstable space is fully playable as it is now (the currently released version on spacesimcentral). I'm asking this because I'm in the mood for a very good openspace space sim right now and have always loved the scifi realism of iwar. My plan b would be evochron legends I think. Thanks a lotL

Haven't seen Cambragol around in a while but I hope Torn Stars is still progressing in development.
