RE: Avatar is coming soon
Heheh good one Pinback.Well Cameron has made 2 billion off of Avatar and hasn't even sold a DVD/BR yet
. Think Avatar cost over 400mil to make, so I guess James Cameron's next film will have a budget of 600mil. Just great to see a scifi film make a killing in the theaters.
RE: Avatar is coming soon
OK i take back my last comment, second time round (in 3D this time) it was breath taking, story kinda grew on me too!the bit where the life tree seed jellyfish things where floating around had me wafting the air in front of my face and trying to grab one!!
and when he first runs and skids to a halt and the soil under his feet flicks up and out of the screen i felt the need to brush down my lap and clean my jeans!
.first new 3D movie Ive seen and i think they all should be 3D now. its the way forward
imagine space games in 3D like that! whoa! i heard rumor that the first 3D t.v`s are to be put on the market soon?...and also as a result of watching the film some people have got that caught up in it it has resulted in depression because they want to live on that planet so much and have gone on sick from work,
who needs to live on an alien planet? this ones strange enough
RE: Avatar is coming soon
Well I finally got around to watching Avatar on Blu-Ray and I was pleasantly impressed with it. The story almost mimicked a animated movie I saw recently 'Battle for Terra'. I thought the story went well with the whole flow of the movie and how by the end you were cheering for the death of the humans
It is definitely worth a watch and the visuals I thought were quite good and really made this movie successful without them I don't think it would have done as well.Zoë Saldaña who plays the Neytiri princess in Avatar did really well in my opinion and really made the movie.[hsimg]http://photogallery.filmofilia.com/data/media/11/Avatar_Neytiri_Zoe_Saldana.jpg[/hsimg]Now James Cameron should have put more on the damn disc than just the movie. How can you watch a movie like this and not want to watch at least a few extras on how it was made and the visual effects? Yeah I know a extended/directors cut is coming at the end of the year (which I will buy Avatar at that time) but I hate it when studios take advantage of consumers. Especially since they say the next version will only add 6mins to the movie and they will re-release it in the movie theaters for 6mins??? Add 30mins and people will love it.Avatar screams for a sequel and I hope Cameron does as good a job or better on the next one. He does have a cash cow on his hands if he does it right and he is talking about three movies total.Best movie of all time.... nah. My pick is still the Lord of the Rings movies. Those are Epic movies especially the extended versions.
RE: Avatar is coming soon
If they do a director's cut cinema release I'll go see it again, as long as I can watch it in 3D. I was more than a little impressed by that. IIRC Cameron has 2 sequels planned, both being filmed in full 3D again.Unfortunately we won't be seeing this particular version of 3D in the home any time soon, it needs 2 separate polarised images running in paralell and I don't know of any screen yet that can produce that effect. I can't use the other version myself, too painful and it plays havoc with my eyesight for some time afterwards.
