Looks like Cold Stars may never get a translation because the website is no more and quasar studios website is also down the creators of Tarr Chronicles and Dark Horizon.

I'll have to add Russian to the list of languages I need to learn to play all the foreign games I compulsively buy :-/ Bringing back, this topic from Oblivion (TM), there is a patch for adding English Menus and subs to the game. You can find it here: http://www.coldstars.ru/

You would think with all the interest in these games nowadays some one would have done a English translation patch and released it through one of the digital networks. Not much on YouTube about it only a couple of small game play videos.

There is an official patch, that seems to translate menus and adds subtitles, but I cannot test it, since it is not possible to buy the game.

I seem to recall seeing it on a Russian game site, IIRC it was the one where you could buy Precursors.

I seem to recall seeing it on a Russian game site, IIRC it was the one where you could buy Precursors. Unfortunatelly their paying systems are incopatible with PayPal or even credit cards. Not to mention that they are not certain if the game can be activated, aoutside the Russian Federation. (Dark Side Mode On: I had acquired an "unofficial" cd image of the game :spiteful: , I haven't figured out, how to bypass the cd protection!!!

:haha:Dark Side Mode off).

So finally got a copy of this. Couple of points for anyone thinking about buying it.1 Make sure it's new copy of the game if you going for the disk version as you only get two internet activation attempts.2 it has some sort of securom DRM on it, could be Starforce, used my old XP machine and glad I did. Good news is that CaptaintKal link above to the English patch worked so far although I have not played it much. The only problem so far is that I can't work out how to change the graphic setting as has to done before you start the game and I can only see ????? in the boxes.
