Some Pioneer vids here:This one was made using Fraps to record, VirtualDub to cut, After Effects for Transtitions and MeGUI for Compression. Compressed as an Xvid at 8000KB/s @1280x720This one starts with a 3 sun sunrise
Fraps again with this one, but only Virtual dub used for cutting and compression. Compressed as an xvid at 5000KB/s @1920x1080@Potsmoke, this one has your Adder in it

I love those new videos, particularly the planet with the big pillowy-looking hills. It is a pity about the disappearing terrain glitch. Here is a work-in-progress build of pioneer with that glitch fixed:http://pioneerspacesim.net/sites/default/files/pioneer-wip.rar

Dude, you rock. Thats been annoying me since first alpha. I'm going to have to make another video now with some low canyon flying ;)Tomm, is it possible to add in another level of planet quality, like a very very 'very' high, or just call it ultra ? (could be good for the videos)Thanks guys for the compliments on the videos :)EDIT// Unfortunately the hotfix isn't working for me

In stdout it says this: " Error loading shader data/shaders/bgstars.vert.glsl. "I've looked and thefile seems to be missing.EDIT2// Copying any of the shader files and renaming it to "bgstars.vert.glsl" seems to do the trick, but there are some issues with the stars and main menu.

Here is another work in progress build. It improves city rendering performance and fixes a bad bug that caused weird crashes with some models (like those big mushroom-shaped dome on a leg buildings).http://pioneerspacesim.net/sites/default/files/pioneer-wip.rarIt also needs these two shader files put in data/shaders/http://pioneerspacesim.net/sites/default/files/bgstars.frag.glslhttp://pioneerspacesim.net/sites/default/files/bgstars.vert.glslPhew... 14 hour coding spree... i must be nuts

meanwhile, i have stripped my models so everything should run in a more or less playable framerateit's in the same download as beforei had to disable also some environmental sound

to make it run proper, i don't know how it will work with the new WIPbut for alpha4 it's ok.this is just a workaround, i will straighten up everything moreactually you can't add another ship to it and it won't run

mostly my own fault, but i also had to knew how far i can go

i hope the new build isn't so slow as the debug version i received.......i have some problems to upload due to my slow connection....here's the link, same as before: testversion2_data.7z

Those are some nice new videos, s20dan. It's good to see more Pioneer vids on youtube. I hope Pioneer will get the attention it deserves.Potsmoke, I'm sorry I haven't had time yet to make a video myself. I'll try to make one soon, the more vids, the better

Thanks. Yes the game is shaping up very nicely now and could be very popular :)With the latest alphas the clipping issue with planet terrain was fixed, so we can make some nice videos of canyon racing

I keep meaning to have an exploring session to find some decent canyon areas.

i guess a input recording would be a nice special (replay function), like you have for some racing games.i will try once a pure keystroke replay using "DoOver", maybe that works if it's enough to record only the keystrokes to replay a situation. would be great if you could playback a fight and watch from any camara angle to make a clip of it.i have some saved pre-fight situations.at least one is worth 10'000'000 creds, manage to get through and be real rich afterwards

you will have to fight with a adder equipped with a 2MW laser against two couriers and a lanner fireing at you with their 10 and 20MW lasers.it is to manage, but needs some tries, if you are lucky one blasts the other out of the way and you have to mess then only with two of them.you can start training now, install my models update and use the eye as ladybird, press 10 times CTRL-F12 (not to fast, else they crash into each other)good luck, commandernow you know what a barrage is

I just noticed that King Haggis's You Tube video now has over 3000 views!

Word is starting to spread, good!

I'm sure having it on the front page of SSC is helping a bit as well. Cannot wait for your new updated version using Alpha5?

LOL, yes, it's good to see more interest in Pioneer. I'm sure having the video here on the frontpage of Space Sim Central helps indeed. In an attempt to "lure" people to the Pioneer forums I've also taken the liberty to post the link to my video on other forums. I hope they won't mind, hehe!

For me, weekend starts today. I think I'll continue working on my new video this evening. I'm not much of an editor. The first movie came out OK more by accident and dumb luck than by skill. I'm really having a hard time with my 2nd attempt so I hope you people won't expect a miracle.

Don't be silly, your video was a lot more than just 'OK'. I just rewatched it to make sure, its a very good video. The cuts are good and it all matches very nicely to the bladerunner music. You just set such a high standard on the first vid I bet its hard to follow, but I have faith you will pull it off ;)It would be great to see some of the newer ship models in the vid, nudge nudge wink wink

http://www.spacesimcentral.com/downloads.php?view=detail&df_id=328 some of P66s models too:http://www.spacesimcentral.com/downloads.php?view=detail&df_id=319

Thanks S20Dan! Owww, but now I'm sure you people are expecting a miracle. I think I'm almost done now. Tomorrow I'll polish it a bit further but it won't be as nice as my first vid. I've also added models by S20dan and Potsmoke.

Me too!

I put up a link so good people of Amibay have a chance to see it too. Did you know Amibay is full of Frontier fans? The SSC also got a mention of course

Just do what you think is best King Haggis, I am sure you will do just fine.

Your first vid was simply stunning and blew a lot of people away (me included and I play it all the time

), I was reading the comments left by some of the people, yes some went on about Infinity, but were is it? Pioneer is here now and just gets better and better. You have done more to further Pioneer's popularity than me ranting on lots of different forums, so you keep on going!

And thats the question isn't it. 6 years is a hell of a long time to spend doing something and not have anything tangible to show for it, or at least no evidence to that fact.

I uploaded the original early alpha Pioneer video to Megaupload.com. Those who are interested in using it for whatever reason can download and save it to their harddisk. This way you don't have to stream it anymore from youtube and the video quality is a bit higher. It's a big file though... 536MB

I don't have a great knowledge of formats and videocompression so I guess I've chosen the wrong option to export the video. It's a bit hazy and blurry and it's way too big, hehe. Anyway here's the URL:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=44DOMF6WAnd here's the youtube link again, for all newcomers:

Nice one Kinghaggis, I can add this onto the ModDB page if you like. Although my connection sucks, so if I cannot upload it without timing out, I could at least grant you access to the modDB page so you can upload it yourself if you feel inclined to do so :)In fact, I think that anyone who has helped in any way, especially in the way of media (screenshots and videos) should be granted access to the modDB site, so you can upload videos and screenshots.
