I couldn't find an issue on the bug tracker that said it was a problem, that might be because GitHub's issue tracker search seems to not be working too well today, or it might not be on there. if it's not on there then it tend to slip peoples mind - they forget.EDIT - link to the Pioneer GitHub issue tracker

As far as I can see there's nothing on the tracker, and I don't recall ever hearing about this. Please open an issue.

I've just uploaded a new OSX binary for pioneer.https://twitter.com/...390510566711296 those who have OSX, would you mind giving this one a test (in particular those who are running < 10.7) as I've recently updated my toolchain and a few libraries have also been updated.Thanks.

2 October - 50c1aceThis is the first build with support for customisable factions. Its very rudimentary and highly experimental at this stange, mostly because we're not sure what a faction system should look like. Kudos to Fluffyfreak for writing the code and driving it through. Now give us feedback and tell us how it should work!Freeze for alpha 27 will begin this Friday.

Hello,I have just tried nightly build pioneer-7dff708-linux64 and it seems like joystick input is broken. No reaction at all. Though on alpha28 it works just fine.I know that it's dev build and stuff... but may be it will be helpful for you to track regressions.Ubuntu 12.10 x64, Saitek X52.Awesome game by the way! Eager to see it evolving.

27 November - 1e7691dThe latest nightly has 103 factions and if you zoom waaay out with the sector view, you can see them:

103 factions and only 8 colors? Do you have a link to the info that tells us how to work with this? Btw, it's looking awesome!

Colours are randomly-generated, but yes, its a bit fiddly. When you scroll out if you have the info box enabled (which it is by default), it will change to have a set of toggles to show/hide specific factions. We're still not entirely sure how useful this is, but its a start. Play with it and let us know what you think!

How can I check the build, if You don't give an EXE file? <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//fie.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fie:' />

Thanks for the heads-up. The Windows builds have been failing for a week and nobody noticed. I've just fixed things and there's a new build running, which should be uploaded in the next half hour.I guess I should advertise the dev builds a bit more, since obviously nobody has tried one in at least week <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I highly suggest - with each new version of the game, make a new video. You can and titles with new opportunities for video.

You can only zoom out to ~175 light years distance from the centre of view, so it's the factions in the local region only. If you have automatic system selection on (the default) then clicking on a Faction home system label re-centres the view on that system. The usual controls rotate and scroll the view. Tab switches between the selection information panel, the new faction toggle panel, and hiding the panel.data/factions/99_Autogenerate.lua is the script that builds the extra factions using the same Lua interface as the other factions. That Lua interface has been extended to allow you to specify mutliple government types per faction with weighting for type. You can also now select which Faction a system belongs to when making a custom system.

@skapusniakYou know when I wrote the factions system I wasn't sure anyone was going to use it let alone extend it <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_biggrin.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />You've done an awesome job on extending it and making it worthwhile!Andy

There's a new dev build every single night. It's automatic. If you wanted to make a video each day, you could...

The last few win32 versions I've grabbed have had ".map" files instead of executables... won't work in WINE and Vista just gives me some grief about C++ express :/Not ready to get up to my elbows in my Vista partition... not the only thing that needs fixing... it's Vista after all <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />Not particularly worried, but figured I'd mention it.
