Haha I try not to catagorize my "things" but in simple terms, I would call them dimented babies from the deepest pits of hell  :)

Thats a nice tweed jacket that guy is wearing  They are looking good. Jamie is a bit of a Dab-hand so he might know a thing or two about how to make them look older ;)

Thanks, who says there aren't any true gen'ts in the future ;) ignore his bad hair though, the real ones will be much better. I'm already working on a way of making hairstyles withough horrifically chopping up google images of celebrities.I'm just waiting on some answers now before I get started on it. Infact would you know? you seem to be quite clued up! All I really need to know is what size to make the finished portraits.Age is going to be tough. I'd need a way of superimposing wrinkles without them overlapping things like eyes and lips etc

I'm not entirely sure so I did a little test for you by placing your face in with the dead video widget and trying it at 2 different resoluions and aspect ratio, you will be able to effectively judge the size yourself this way:[attachment=492:pioneer-msvc-9 2011-01-31 03-52-17-74.jpg][attachment=491:pioneer-msvc-9 2011-01-31 03-52-59-70.jpg]As you can see there is stretching on wide-screen resolutions and I'm not sure how to stop that.

Thanks! I see that there's a bit of space above his head, that means I can show a bit more of their clothing :)Hmm the stretching doesn't look too bad actually. Hopefully there can be something done about it, there may be a way to have the aspect ratio coded in regardless of resolution, but then again, I know nothing about coding.EndifEnd

Just to keep those who care up to date, here are a couple of tests of how it is currently going. I'm now splicing various portraits of people and it's looking a lot better now if I do say so myself :) I think you'll agree they look older now too!I think you might also agree that the first one looks a bit like the guy from Avatar, and the second one looks a tad like Billy Crystal squinting at the sun. And those that offered their faces up for this project. Here's you chance! Pm me and I'll give you my email so you can send me a piccy :)<>Also, here's a quick look the animated overlay I'm working on-

Wow, these look really nice and promising, but could you possibly put in a few women? :DThis is a nice project and I really wouldn't like to feel like in half-life 1 with the only women being ninja-robot-assassins ;)

I'm releaved :DThose new ones look nifty, i just hope that the final versions won't have different sets of eyes and eyebrows :mrgreen:Also, could you possibly not have the male characters not have so shiny lips?

Will or won't? Unfortunately I think seperating the eyes from the eyebrows will be a problem, as it would cause problems with them overlapping. It will be ok when there are a lot more eye sets though and you shouldn't really see the same ones too often in a row. Hmm thinking about it though.. I could make different versions of each set of eyes with various eyebrows. Thankyou, I'll look into that :)

That is quite a bothersome product of the portraits I'm using which often have a lot of flashy lighting. When they are then added to the somewhat flat toned base face, it gives the effect of shinyness. That's why it would be cool if people could donate some pics of themselves.....you fancy it? The shinyness is annoying me though so I will definitely be trying to reduce it some more on the ones I've done already.

Won't. The left eyebrow being different from the right eyebrow is way too spooky if you ask me :) But the different eyebrow sets with different eye sets sound nice.

I'm ugly, you don't want my face in the game :D

You mentioned you're working in photoshop IIRC, you could just add a darkish semi-transparent layer to reduce the shiny effect

There you go. Lips are now de-shinyfied ( I used burn tool to darken the highlights then blended the colours together a bit) and the guys eyebrows now match. Don't know how I didn't notice that! Funny how the eye can choose to ignore certain things it can't be arsed to deal with

Do you need a preview tool for seeing how the different images fit together? Or are you managing OK using layers in photoshop?

That's very nice work! The video overlay even gives a slight illusion of animation, but I think it should probably be turned down a bit.
