marcel, that's cool 8-) , erm, i live (or should live, i havn't been there since 2 weeks) now in "Wattwil", but it's such close to "Kaltbrunn", that it won't matter.for people that live in large cities this would be "next door" (at least there is a pass and a railroad tunnel between them, 7km for the tunnel :D ) are all these people play resp. participate with us?i never was aware, wow. i always had my head such deep into the machine...

These are the people on Space Sim Central that I could figure out a location for when I first started this. If I couldn't find their city then I picked the largest and/or capitol city of their country. If I were to do this again I'd just include the people on the Pioneer Forum. Earth seems a little overpopulated, especially in Great Britain!

hmm, i guess that's easy the truth...what does this north american native stated when he as first of them visited great britain?"there are as many people on the earth as stars in the sky..."for what he has earned only ridicule.

Well yes, that statement is wrong. It's more like there are as many galaxies in the universe as there are grains of sand on all of the beaches on the Earth! ;)I can't remember if I posted this here, but take a look. Don't forget the fairy cake. ;) http://htwins.net/scale2/

Very true, and I remember when I first found that out, it's just hard to imagine how many that is, it's certainly a big universe and possibly even bigger than we think.

bookmarked it!i wouldn't say wrong from his point of view and what he could imagine as population (perhaps his words was as grains of sand...).i guess he only never saw so many peoples at once, or a city like london.i guess any native from elsewhere would have felt (will still feel) the same.for western civilisation the world has ended behind india for a long, long, time.most uneducated people would have guessed that there won't live a lot more humans on earth as they could have count up to.or in other words, what they have experienced, what they already know.i guess if you would have asked a swiss resident 2000 years ago he would have guessed 1000 or 10'000, while this would have exceeded already all he ever seen.what he knew about the world has perhaps ended in rome, england, the big forests in the north, he will have known there is jerusalem (he will have probably heard about, while he wouldn't have had no idea how far away it is) and a sea that surrounds all.what brings us to the measurement of the unmeasurable or infinite...it depends on our horizon, our horizon is steady growing.with every little knowledge we gather from the universe it grows and grows and grows, imho.universe, "all", or better "all what is surrounding me", also tells already a lot about that.as a individual my mind always stays in the center of the universe, the "rest" is surrounding me.slowly we filled the infinite with definit and we won't stop doing so.a little astronomical history mixed with a little legend, when mystic and science was still sisters.the great pythagoras seemed to dare to ask his students, if it wouldn't be logical that something perfect (or made by the gods) like our earth must have a perfect shape?"yes", they would have probably answeredand what has a perfect shape?"a sphere". :ugeek: now further he dared to ask them, if they could imagine, that if the above statement is a fact, the moon, the sun, the planets and all the little dots we can see on the nightly sky must be spheres then too?"-" (means silence)that was completely ahead, more, it was dangerous in those days only to think of such, that's why he asked only hypothetically.i have more "in petto" for youperhaps "next lesson".

wow :o where can i download that one :?: looks stunningfantastic work , i'm amazed.i never did, even not with the decals, two reasons, - i know not everybody is a deadhead (besides, you know they have a mixed reputation)- it belongs unfortunatly to "grateful dead merchandising", (becky, the sister of phil who made T's along with mikio told me once, i have to be careful with such, since that i hide the resemblance to grateful dead carefully, which is a task of it's own).a shirt i made 4 years ago, i wear it as often as possible.first poster i made for another dead cover band, mid 90's. i see now that the picture is broken... don't mind, had several crashes...but it's one of the most loved by me, because it saved a guy from suicide (he told me).to me that worthes more then a million $"dead end?", was very special, they might have never recognized it and split in late 90's, but diana a deadhead from the first hour ('66 she was 17) told me after a concert: "i'm not "allowed" to say this, but the "dead end?" are better rather the original, i felt like 17 again" typical is that the band went off stage and felt pissed off after the concert

I love a nicely-hijacked thread. Just saw your edit... Cosmic Charlie are the best Dead-alike band!

i have seen them once, they played a event in "einsiedeln" it was unfortunately the last concert of the "dead end?" (perhaps because of cosmic charlie?)but they are quite different, cosmic charlie is far more professional rather the deadend?, but perhaps exactly this was what we loved and what has made them so special.they start to play and after a while some spirit starts to lead them, they couldn't control that, it just happened.i know i'm not unguilty in that case, i mean, i know i can lead a band elsewhere (i don't play, but i dance like a derwish).i loose control, rythm leads me to trance, they start to lose control and went to trance too. i love this energy flow between audience and band much. but perhaps also a reason why they usually felt pissed off after a concert, i mean they must have felt it that they no longer play by themselfes, "some other guy" (a spirit?) is playing the guitar or the drums.i have a beloved nightclub i visit sometimes, it's a africans nightclub, mostly i'm the only white person in this club, but they love how i dance."european carribean", "is he lead by the holy ghost?", "this guy can really dance", such things i hear when i dance (they might not know, but i understand enough french to understand that).but also i watch them dance, pick out this and that of their movements and evolve myself each time.p.s. to avoid confusion for readers, the question mark belongs to the name "dead end?".

Sol hasn't changed for alpha 22 but the method for adding mods has, so I took the opportunity to update potsmoke's address. As per the new method, put this zipfile into your mods folder. In my windows machine it's Users//My Documents/Pioneer/mods.I've noticed that even with my newer machine I still get 4fps in Europe with a bunch of spaceports in view, whether they're over the horizon or not. It seems that putting everyone on Space Sim Central for whom I could find an address was overdoing it. I think that for alpha 23 I'll limit it to people who posted on the Pioneer forum. :)

Congratulations - yours is Pioneer's first ever mod (apart from my crappy test/example mods, which don't count).

Possibly for the best! I will try to find time to take a look at what's happening though. It might be something that's easily fixed.

Excellent Marcel 8-) And I think that's a good idea to limit the amount of starports. As a further suggestion, maybe you could further limit it to those of 300 or above posts in the Pioneer section. That might help to improve frame rates a bit.
