Tried to register, got no email from that either on either of my accounts, weirdness is out in force today....EDIT: Have I gone mad or was there a demo on the site and it's now vanished? I'm pretty sure I clicked onto it around Christmas time and saw a demo link, I checked yesterday, no demo at all.
Looks like they taken it off, I guess it because they are doing an update/patch to the game.According to the thread on Touch Arcade http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=117572It should be out soon.Your account on their forum should be active just try logging in, the only email I got was to confirm my user name and password. You could also try a PM to Swiftest.

Hi Celticfang, sorry about the troubles you're having. You were supposed to get sent an email immediately. What happened is we moved our hosting service to Amazon's cloud and they have some stringent rules to prevent spamming that may be interfering with the emails. The move also apparently removed the links to the demo versions. We're sorting this out and will have the system send you the emails as soon as it's fixed, definitely sometime today.Linh

Played it for about 15 to 20 mins and love it so far, the only issue I found is with docking, I can't work out how to dock, I hit the button and it takes me to the 2km limit, then I hit it again and it says something about dock limit mode, does that mean I need to be 2km or more out when I start docking?Love it so far, the intro made me wonder just what Dangerous really is and I love the conversation and the slave ship in the beginning

Just hit the docking button again when you get under the 2km mark.Probably a bit late but if you want to play the story missions but make sure you don’t do any of the freelance mission as gaining standing with Sola Fida will prevent you from playing the story mission.I see the Iphone is getting a patch so hopefully we will see the PC/Mac one soon. Been trying to recruit Grace but keep getting killed, so decided to change ship but found it difficult to know which modules to place in the ship slots as it’s not that easy to tell which is which. Also have the same problem with the ammunition although Ailina will alert me that the weapons have no ammo when I leave the station it’s still hard to tell what weapon uses which ammo.Maybe some sort of colour code for the modules and ammo or as I said earlier maybe just some better description of the items.

Nothing's too late, I keep getting to the docking point in the tutorial on one slot then docking and it tells me to enter dock limit mode when it goes into the station, weirdly it works fine on another slot so I dunno what I did wrong there, I hit the button at 1.5kI'm kind of skittish about fights, I won't fight till I know I can win, and having no shields and no energy....not goodDunno what I did wrong there, I tend to just go missile spam on my netbook save, I went for a total missile barrage, it sort of works, but I tend to just do hit and run with it, on my main PC I want a more balanced loadout.

Have you changed any of the modules as some of the equipment has a bigger drain on your ships energy than other. The three bar at the top of the screen are IIRC are yellow–shields orange-armour and green-energy.Couple of tips from the touch arcade form is to add a sm afterburner and a sensor damp, couldn’t get sensor damp to fit in the slot for some reason but the afterburner has proved to very useful.

I found that so far I prefer not to use the autopilots in combat, also if you track down the wingman it will makes combat much easier.

Don’t know most of the modules are a bit of mystery to me, the start ship has two powercore plus t1 modules in it two low slot. Taking one out changes the power core stats on the left hand side of the screen. If you come up with any good combinations let me know. :D

Holy crap- I just bought Dangerous off of the App Store for my iPod Touch 3G, and it's now easily the best game on my iTouch. It has been awhile since a game with such depth and complexity has arrived on the iPhone/iPod... but there is a bit of a gamebreaking problem...The HUD kills. When flying in a high traffic zone, around stations and such, the target select list goes WAAAAAAAY off screen. It only shows the first four or five, which isn't game breaking in itself, it's just a pain if a pirate warps in, making it a guessing game to target it. A lot of other stuff is cut off too- some of the story dialogue gets cut off (not that much of a problem), in the shipyard the stats are completely cut off, there doesn't appear to be any way to exit the options menu, and a few other bits and pieces. Other than those few things, I congratulate you swiftest on creating the best space open world sim on the iOS market. I'd like to see some more unique models for some of the ships rather than the generic ones that seem to be in a lot of games these days, any chance that would be coming in later updates?

I can only speak from PC and netbook here, but on both there should be a dismiss button at the top right of the menu (the one that says warp and everything else on it), there's a back or dismiss button on the actual options menu for me.I've only found one game breaking bug for me (a record0 in that docking will sometimes be glitched out, it'll launch me straight back into space instead of showing the docking screen, on one save it does that often but not on another.the HUD is kind of like the X series, one thing I'd like s scrollable target lists, I tend to look for a red ship icon to know who to target,I just spam F then R and open up with weapons

Glad you're enjoying it TechnicalBYTE! We are working on fixing the HUD for small screens for the 1.0.4 update. In particular, we're going to prioritize enemies, wingmen, allies, and then neutrals for the contacts list. After the usability and fixes, we hope to start on the ship boarding feature.Celticfang, I sent Andrew, the lead dev, your bug report about the docking problem. Pinback, we have the 1.0.3 version released for Mac/PC, but need to send out emails to existing players. If we don't get the email system updated soon, I'll try send you a direct link. For everybody, feel free to email bug reports and ideas to support@binaryhelix.com.

Ship boarding...? /want...I love the fact it runs on my netbook, pulled an all nighter doing missions, but...I think I'm stuck, at the start I got told about a spy which I found, I did that, now I got to assemble a team, but...no clue where to start, am I overthinking it by going straight to the obvious places, or do I have to do faction missions first/Also, what faction gives the hades as a reward?Did I read it right that for 1.0.4 you're making it so skills and cash alone determine what ships you can get? Also, would you mind letting slip an explanation of what components do what, right now Ive no clue what a power core speed does versus the other one, or is that coming in a later update?

Boarding = win :D Does this mean we can capture ships then?celticfang, I think I remember in the first or second system the story takes you to at the start, theres a capital ship station of factory, can't remember the name sorry, that sold a single Hades... that is, that's not a reward, so I hope it's still useful :P And I think in one of the systems Hub stations theres a pilot... I think... the system started with A... hrm... I'm a lot of help today... :?

There's one at the Washbo hub and the capital ship station but I can't buy either, I seem to remember reading (thanks Alina...) that you need loyalty missions for the better licenses.Started with A? That's only 5000 or so to search :P Come join in, we'll get it done quicker that way!

Capital ships license is given by SLV whose HQ can be found in Chiba. Some of the more arcane modules and their functions:sensor damp: reduce the lock range of an enemyECM: tries to break and prevent all locks by a single enemy (percentage based, helps if you have ECM skill and ECM ship bonus)ECCM: makes it harder for ECM to work on your shipremote armor repair: repairs a target ship's armor, useful for breakdown an escort quests, Cali has this skillremote shield recharge: recharges a shield remotely, useful for escort quests, Grace has this skillenergy vampire: drains a small amount of energy from an enemy ship and gives it to your powercoreenergy neutralizer: eliminates a larger amount of energy from an enemy ship, useful to stop energy hungry modules from operating on an enemyenergy transferer: gives a remote ship some energy for its powercorewebber: slows down an enemy ship and also prevents docking by interfering with the station's tractor beamwarp jammer: prevents an enemy from warping awaywarp stabilizer: increases warp strength and prevents being warp jammedpowercore plus: increases the size of your powercore (which also increases the rate of recharge indirectly)powercore speed: increases the rate of recharge for the powercoreshield layering: increases amount of shield (also increases shield recharge rate indirectly)shield energizer: increases amount of shield recharged per cycle

Cheers swiftest got the link today and downloaded the new version. :D Haven't had a chance to play it, just a quick look at the start, like the way you have incorporated the new player starts into the game even works with my old save game. 8-)

Hmm... well, according to the Wings section in your quarters when you dock, there's a pilot named Akia. I think it also says to contact Waaxan Hub Station in the Aelle system. Then again, my iPod's resolution is crap, so I can't read it overly well :P and that's also assuming the iOS version is the same as the PC version. I really need to get a new iPod/iPhone... :PI'm curious swiftest, the AI seems to always use the same sets of ships- are they capable of buying new ships, or do they stick to the same one? Do some only get seen in later systems? And do pirates re spawn, because this universe could get mighty lonely if they don't... :D

I'm headed there currently, can't sleep so I fire up Dangerous....works for meHmm, I'm wondering the same on the ships as you though, I've seen pirate ships reappearing, makes it great when they warp in and attack as I'm docking
