We have a Winner! Congratulations Vuzz! I don't know what happened to the picture. I've been having trouble posting anything but a thumbnail. Here it is again. You're looking 'up' at pad 3 in this view. I modified the docking sequence so you enter, stop, roll to the docking bay position, then drop 'down' to the pad. The colors are for the blue faction. Baobobafet, Just checked out the Jupiter 2 and stuff. As I said, it's much bigger inside than the outside. I've always loved that thing for some reason. I had model kits of some of the ships you've posted. The Orion, the Moonbus, the Alien saucer, and of course the enterprise and Klingon cruiser. Here's another model I had.And a link to the website about it where I got the image. http://www.projectrho.com/SSC/index.html I have a suggestion. When you add content to this thread and edit a previous post, it doesn't show up as new content. I suggest you make a new post to alert us to look at it. Thanks again for all the wonderful images!

Thanks again for all the wonderful images![endquote] :nomention: & NP, most are little tweaks to existing ship info - but I could give a heads up on any major updates. After I finish off with the 2001 Discovery and EVA PodI will start posting Ralph Mcquarrie's amazing work. Edit: Here's those Leif Erickson pics - I actually came by the tiny shuttle at one point (I think it was made of glow in the dark plastic :) & about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch in size. (this one looks bigger) http://www.projectrho.com/SSC/leifGallery/leifCGI26.html

Just an unabashed attention getter :haha: I removed the Slave1 pic (it will find a new home later) Instead I put in an honorable mention for a series that I think deserves some credit in the evolution and portrayal of spacecraft as well as crew interaction. (page 1)

Re: the Seaview and Flying Sub. I had model kits of those, too! The Seaview shape actually works. I remember putting the model in a swimming pool and letting it go. It glided across the width of the pool without hitting the bottom! The Flying sub however just sort of tumbled. It was supposed to be a kind of helicopter. It may have been the only Irwin Allen model that was actually bigger on the outside than it was on the inside. I remember the crew opening the rear hatch and stepping outside. In the model kit the rear hatch opened to the engine room, then another hatch lead outside. There's a model of it for older versions of Orbiter with a Frontier-like isp and yes, it looks good as a spacecraft. Redolent of a Moray Starboat.

Always got a kick out what looked like insane approach angles whenever the Flying Sub would re-enter the water after flying about.I think Nelson & Crane would've had some great views of the windshield after decelerating from those G's. Went through some of my Chesley Bonestell pics and found additional rocket images to make further montages of his work - (seemed a shame to limit only to his images of rockets) - Page 2.
