ThxWell at first I wanted to create a single ship that looked like it crashed on the asteroid but then I got this other idea, which seemed a bit more original so I went along with turning it into 3D. I may get back to my original idea someday also when I'll find the time and inspiration

I took some time to make a few changes to my blog, more exactly I added :- 3 pages (terms of use * about me * contact), links are under the banner- a "tweet this" button, still needs some reffining thou- "google friend connect" thingy- a thing showing "recent visitors" on a world map, coolAnything else you think I should add/change to my blog to look better/cooler ?

Personally SolCommand the blog looks good to me.Just a thought, maybe you should have a page dedicated to the projects your working on and completed. So in a way it's like a small resume of your accomplishments besides your models catalog you have built.And to address the lady issue, maybe it's time for SolCommand to make a new website.... ladiesthatlovegraphicmodelers.com

Nice one on the Dalek Solcommander I take it you still have its sink plunger and gun to doLike Mae Arae how was the round mesh effect achieved on the spheres and inside of the vents

I made the Dalek for a game and I left behind those things you mentioned so that people could mount guns instead. About the Mae Arae, no special technique was used, just the same old way I do all my models.I just remembered I said I'd try do a model for Far Colony, guess I'll have a try tonight.

SolCommand you ever thought about putting together some HOW TO videos? With a little time you could make some videos that cover certain aspects of modeling space scenes like: asteroid, ship design, stations, weapon mounts, textures, etc...You could make a series and charge a small fee and make a few bucks. I know when I do youtube searches on creating specific models like spaceships you can't find anything. And can't find any 3d modeling books that cover this area as well. Plus its another thing to add to the resume

Heh, no one would give $$ for that and I still have to consolidate my knowledge in the area first. I was actually thinking of starting to do some extremely low poly/game ready probably non-sci-fi models and post on turbosquid for sale at 5 $ or so ... but that's still just a thought.

Had a try at doing a ship inspired by one of those pics you posted, but it's not going as I wanted, it's not looking good enough, so still needs a bit more work before I release the model, need to be in the right mood :p

Even so, the model should be useable.

Btw this is the ship I said I'd do for you. I started doing something after those pics you posted but it turned out like crap so I blend something from those designs with a fair number of ideas of my own and turned out with this design right here.
