I have my founders card on the shelf for when I bought into the kickstarter..... still haven't really played this yet because I always wanted the Squadron 42 experience like in the old WC3/4/5 times. And I thought it was due this year they been kind of quite on it, because they said content wise it was done and they were just polishing it up.
This has a little info.... but still no release date.... since there is only 6mos left I doubt it will be in 2024.

When they said "polishing up" maybe they meant rewrite.
My guess would be Christmas if it comes out this year.

Not been keeping up with what has been going on in SC for a while but just watched a video yesterday and it seems that the game is still in a bit of a mess.
RE: Chris Roberts Star Citizen
I see SC is back in the news, this time because of the eye popping fig of $800 million for a game still in Alpha.
And in a few years time it will be the one billion dollar Alpha game.

Yeah, I just can't take this game seriously any more, unfortunately. There was so much potential there, but I doubt it will ever be finished, or even un-buggy. They just have no real incentive to release it, and apparently, no deadlines either, and have burned through their cash like crazy.
Still, I often stare at my brass "Star Citizen" membership card from years ago, and think about what could have been....

I can't, and won't, recommend this game to anybody.
A more true view of the game by Camural.

And CR laughs all the way to the bank! No surprise!
RE: Chris Roberts Star Citizen
I love Star Citizen. Still nothing else like it.
It's great fun to put a few dozen hours into it every year or so to enjoy the changes, then take a break for another while.

RE: Chris Roberts Star Citizen
I always thought it had the potential to really great but after some 14 years it still seems to a mess and I'm always amazed how people are still buying into the game every year.

RE: Chris Roberts Star Citizen
Can't find the vid I was looking at but it says that the game may reach 1.0 in 2027 or 2028, believe that when you see it and that and squadron 42 may be out next year.
RE: Chris Roberts Star Citizen
The people "making" this game are directionless. Things they bring into it are half-baked at the best of times, and it remains a bug ridden mess. It's also shifted from being a fully Newtonian based space sim to more like Fornite or Rust in space. Gameplay is all about putting obstacles in front of the player and the Devs want everyone to suffer playing it in the Style of Dark Souls. Ships exist only to move the player from one PvP area to another. Ganking is commonplace, as is cheating. Apart from all that, it's a nice looking game, but the tediousness you have to go through just to do anything will wear you out. If anyone out there is thinking of backing this game, take my advice, don't. Go play No Man's Sky, X4 or Elite instead.
