Hmm... well, according to the Wings section in your quarters when you dock, there's a pilot named Akia. I think it also says to contact Waaxan Hub Station in the Aelle system. Then again, my iPod's resolution is crap, so I can't read it overly well

and that's also assuming the iOS version is the same as the PC version. I really need to get a new iPod/iPhone... :PI'm curious swiftest, the AI seems to always use the same sets of ships- are they capable of buying new ships, or do they stick to the same one? Do some only get seen in later systems? And do pirates re spawn, because this universe could get mighty lonely if they don't...

That's Akio, and you can find him at Waaxan Hub Station in System Aelle as you stated. He's a very useful wingman to get, so skill up a little and try to grab him because he'll make life much easier. Also, all platforms play the same way from the iPhone 3GS to the PC/Mac version. The platforms with a bigger screen and horsepower have some additional enhancements with the ability to render graphics on the "beautiful" setting and PC/Mac versions also have a high polygon count station. The ships will change and run the entire gamut as you descend to the low- and null-security systems. You'll encounter larger and more varied enemies who'll throw everything from ECM, sensor damp, energy neuts, webbers, warp jammers, and more at you. :)Pirates definitely respawn. Some will warp in, and others will already be at the location you're warping in to.

Wow either my frigate's seriously set up wrong or the hijacked ship missions are hard...

What system are you starting the hijacked mission? Do you have any wingmen? What extra modules or skills have you added? Where/at what point are you failing? Remember that you can't destroy the ship even if is attacking you, and you have to slow it down for the rescuers to arrive before it docks. In general, the difficulty is set by the security level you're in.

Tried one in Aelle with the starting frigate geared more toward shield recharge and weapons, i couldn't recharge the shields fast enough, I had on a laser and 4 light turrets, sold the missie launchers and got down to 580 seconds to goI can do the other missions fine

That mission is harder because the pirates can bunch up if you don't kill them fast enough. It is doable in a frigate if you have the skills (increase your frigate skill to give a boost to resistance) and modules. Might want to consider a sensor damp to give yourself more time. Also, you're in Akio's system, you should do his quest to get him unless you like the extra challenge. You can order him to ignore or aid the hijacked ship, so he'll go after other enemies.

There isn't one because all the enemies generally attack you first since you are the "prize" so to speak due to your reputation. If this wasn't the case, Akio wouldn't last very long in battle. (Over time, other wingmen can draw aggro if they attack/heal enough, but you don't generally have to worry about this.) Only Havok generates more hate right off the bat and can draw fire away from you. If you have one of the healer wingmen, they will repair whoever needs it the most.

Ahh, I got Akio by paying off the debt and went after Grace, I didn't last long at all, I'm loving the game so far, but not sure what the next ship I ought to get is, save up for a Tyr, or go for another frigate, my line of thinking is the frigate's not got the shielding, but it's got the speed that I can use.EDIT: Ooh 1.0.4 is out, I[m hunting for a change log

Outside of core- or high-sec, I'd recommend a destroyer or tougher like a cruiser. Depends on your strategy though since speed tanking is sort of viable, too. We'll need to start adding change logs somewhere on the website if not in the download, but didn't include one with 1.0.4. One bug fix makes the hijacked missions a little easier to finish, and there are some visual fixes as well as a "smart" market filter which doesn't show you under or oversized modules or modules that your ship can't equip.

Is this version 1.0.4 coming to iOS soon too then- or do the PC and iOS version numbers differ? I'm also finding it difficult to choose where to go after the Agron, but that's mostly because I can't see the stats.

Liking the sound of the market filter, it would make buying weapons/modules a hell of a lot easier!

I just can't figure out where the trading/mining skills are- do you need to unlock them or something first, because there aren't any non-weapon/ship related skills on my skill page...

Version 1.0.3 is still awaiting review by Apple in the iOS app store. Most likely, iOS will skip 1.0.4 and get version 1.0.5 due to this delay. For 1.0.5, we're adding better control options for all platforms.Mining and other skills are given out as corporation loyalty quests. Get your standings up to 0.49 with MNE or ORE to trigger the loyalty quest. One of them gives you the mining ship license and skill. The Master Trader skill is also given out by one of the transport corporations.

I got the turret destroyer and fitted it with 8 turrets, it may be overkill, but....no pirates have lived to tell about my shipBYTE, the stats can be seen by hitting the ? icon by the ship's name

Yea, but on my iOS device the stats of a ship when viewing it in the market are squashed up and are completely cut off...

Thanks celticfang, I don't actually have a particular ship yet that I'm looking at

, but if I find one later could you still do it? And... medium turrets cannot be equipped to Frigates, can they...

Err....I think they can, I know I mounted heavy or large turrets on the starter frigate and had zero energy left...

Oh ok then- somehow I forgot that the starting ship only has two turret slots...

I just found Akio, by paying off the debt as well, expect something odd happened. I selected to pay off the debt, but somehow he got destroyed anyway- there was about twelve ships in the damn asteroid belt, so my device was massively lagging. Seriously though, Akio has this awesome habit of destroying a pirate ship before I even get close to them...

Tyr with 8 light turrets...good luck to any pirate coming up against that.If I got more than one pirate....is it possible to have two turrets attacking one ship, two attacking anither, two attacking another and so on or only have all 8 firing at one ship?I mean, 8 turrets on one pirate....goodbye pirate, but I'm thinking two on four ships may improve my survival odds with Grace's mission.Free hint here, Tyr I've found shreds the pirates you find in high/core systems. Along with Akio, yeah they go down quickly.I'm avoiding the death triangle missions for now
