I haven't pledged yet, but I do plan to. I'd be happy to participate.

Seen the email this morning, got to say that Roberts and his team have done an outstanding job in promoting their game some thing Frontier could learn from.

I just got an email from Chris Roberts this morning. He made $3,000,000 on his own site and $1,000,000 on kickstarter and still some time to go too. Looks like all systems are go for Star Citizen.

The website has it at $3 mil for both sites... He says on there that he hopes to hit the $4 mil mark combined before the funding ends.

I sure hope this game gets released as soon as possible and more than that I do hope that it delivers exactly what I expect from it. Just thinking of it makes me remember all the great scifi games I played throughout the years and gives me a feeling that I'd better play them all again once more otherwise my life wont be complete <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

He still has to set up the company and recruit staff to make the game.

With the sort of backing he's got that shouldn't be a problem. He must still have loads of contacts in the industry left over from when he was last making games. I already pledged but will say though I am mainly doing it for the single player game, however if Darkone wants to hook up with me when the game is released and go hunt some perps (I went for the Bounty Hunter package too), yea why not! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' />

I expect you guys to form a SSC guild/squadron as soon as the game is released, with all these people from around the world we could manage to have at least a few persons online throughout the day. However, I have no clue if Star Citizen even supports clans/guilds/whatever they are called.

"we’re not building Grand Theft Starship"What a shame, a game like that could have been a lot of fun. Rockstar are you out there? Looking at that vid kind of re-minded me of the old Amiga game intro for Alien Breed Tower Assault. Remember that one Pinback? <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//girl_crazy.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':girlcrazy:' />

I think he means more in the sense that you're not just running jacking vehicles all the time; this ship boarding mechanic seems to be high risk/high reward, and requires teamwork.

For the record Mr. Roberts your salute was wrong <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//wink3.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />I think this could actually hit 4mil mark and just take a look at the 4mil stretch goals they are awesome.

Yeah, Chris is really pushing for it as well, and there is a campaign on the main site for all pledgers to kick in an additional $5 to help reach the goal. If we hit $4.2, it'll be the highest crowd funding ever raised, passing Project Eternity.

What was wrong about it? I don't understand.

Won't stop douchebag parties from abusing those mechanics.

I was referring, and I think Chris was as well, more about the frequency of taking a ship from another player in space... and if you read his description, it should indeed stop douche bad parties from abusing it. At the very least, they will need one ship dedicated just to boarding.
