I have a sheet of paper near me which tells me that the chords for The Turtles song are E minor, D, C and B7. This is because one of our jammers likes to sing it at our jam sessions.
This is supposedly one of Frank Zappa's favourite guitar riffs

Always thought Johnny Cash had written it. Looked him up on Wiki - seems he also wrote 'The Ballad of Lucy Jordan' which sounds quite good today but I don't think I particularly liked back when it was in the charts.
This is a song that I am currently learning to play - I am not sure what the person who chose to try to sing this was thinking.

Saw a Frank Zappa documentary the other day. A song called 'Trouble Comin' Every Day' was mentioned (got them a record deal apparently). Don't remember hearing it before but it is as good a Zappa song as I have heard.

Only know Cosmik Debris from that album. Think I alreday posted the song on here.
Had a bit of a discussion the other day about whether Blockbuster by the Sweet is the same riff as Jean Genie by David Bowie (music plagiarism has been in the news lately). I can't tell, and there are differing opinions on how to play the Sweet riff.

I reckon that riff goes back further than either of them.

Yes, it is supposedly based on 'I'm A Man', although that is in G rather than E.

I'm a Man → Bo Diddley → Who Do You Love → George Thorogood & The Destroyers...

Second only to Quicksilver's 25 minute live version on their Happy Trails album.
