Oh, well, registered a couple days ago, my first post may as well be a hello.Fan of space in general. Played Elite a long time ago in my speccy, and is my favorite game of all times - been looking for a decent heir ever since. Also played (and liked) Frontier and FFE. Also X series from the start (X-BTF), but although they are nice, Elite they are not (no "feeling of wonder and discovery").I'd love to see a game with frontier style physical universe (planets and moons with orbits,.. not the full newtonian physics though - combat sucks), great graphics, good background story + sandbox approach - ok, easier said than done . Recently played Tachyon (ok an oldie) - liked the combat, but it it only missions. May try Evochron soon.Last time I checked there was ad astra and oolite. Nowadays there seem to exist quite a lot of projects (but few produts ), so I'm a bit lost in all this confusion - after all, the space genre is quite varied (from X4s, RTSs to pure action...).Finally, grats to Darkone for picking up this theme and creating Space Sim Central!

I think that has been my dilemma recently is how best to categorize all of the game types and to ease the pain in finding the info, new game or projects easily. I have been looking into some more professional CMS systems but most either have no support for conversion of phpbb forums or it is very hands on/manual migration process which really stinks :(Thanks for the praise Pyros, just like on the mainpage it is true I actually couldn't believe there wasn't a site just dedicated to the genre at all so I decided to take a stab at doing it. I have a ton on plans its just having the know-how to implement them. So any recommendations to make SSC better please just post them in the Admin area.Have fun on the site and there is a lot of great and knowledgeable people here.

Well, I was a old time lurker in ATFW (A Talent for War), and I have the idea they had some kind of game database - but can't remember the details :(Will have fun for sure!
