ok, to answer to the thread starterpersonally i don't like ambient, usually to long breathed for my choice.i guess i like the first ones you posted best.but i'm speaking only for myself of course.now when one has read this post, might think how could that be he like "tranquilizing" classical tunes and didn't likes ambient?well to me something complete different and even piano music equals not piano music, if it has to less diversity, i don't like it.diversity can be achieved with a simple tune, a canon i.e..how could that be?well that's what differs art or the artists, one can compose a piece of music from repetive used 4 notes and it sounds great, another falls into dullness and it get's boring, that could be even only the interpretation that differs a tune.don't take this to personally dan, i only like to push you a bit

in general i respect the work you did.oh well and really get bachs canon's and fugues.in fact they was never ment to play, he wrote them down as tutorial pieces, i guess he never played one of them.listen to them very attentive, try to figure out what's behind these compositions, how they are build, which style elements he used and how he played around with changing scores or voices from track to track.because some are based on the 4 opening notes from the aria of his "goldberg variations" they are good to compare and you get soon a feeling for his way to compose.i really wonder if this man would live today, what kind of music he would compose?outraking in any case!

Nothing says "SPACE" like that does
absolutely!even if i know some other classical tunes that represents space well.my classical replacement for GD's Dark Star - Franz Listz, prelude and fugue over the four notes B,A,C,H. try it it's a hammer piece of organ music which for shure interpretes the style of bach in a more "modern" way (i guess this one's ok, i recorded it from a record so it's somewhat free and no 1:1 copy).of course the ones i posted here long ago, Gustav Holst - the Planets.(these are free to listen)further, not so typical, J.S.Bach, Canons BWV 1087 which he made as style examples, they are short and not to agressive (note, even these are based only on repetively used the same 4 notes, but not b,a,c,h, that would be a bit to phat for a man like him, even when he made a tune based on them).J.S.Bachs Lute Suite in e - BWV 996 (played in a on guitar).J.S.Bach - Aria from Goldberg Varitionen , of course played by Glenn Gould (who else could play this tune so beautiful?)i even listen to that in Sim-Copter, can you imagine how great, flying a copter, fighting fires, saving people from trains tops and listen to this tranquilizing piece of music?music has a big influence on how you play a game! usually in fights they give pressure to you with some agressive music because you will make faults then, it makes the game virtually harder, but if you listen to such classical piano music, you never loose your temper. (his music is all only play for pay, you can see here again the miserable copyright holders, one piece composer is less popular is legal to listen, another more popular composer they take money and only because he's popular, or what do you think who will get the money if the composer and interpretor is long time dead?, and why they take no fee for Holst's work, isn't his music as good as bachs? didn't deserve the orchestra or the conductor some respect?, i know, money allways finds is way back).btw, he wasn't that popular all the time, he's music has been found worthy to listen in 20th century, before people didn't liked baroque music to much, the reason might be it sounds stupid with a full classical orchestra, it's not made to be played by 30 violins (and i even didn't like that), he composed his music for quartets and typically quintets, (viola*, cello, trumpet, bass which could be a cembalo**) further the tune has changed and such hasn't respected before, but if you play his music with the "modern" tuning (half a note up compared to baroque) it sounds "wishy washy"*** (cool i don't have to translate that - wischi waschi). for a long time he was nearly unknown or just one amongst many other very unpopular baroque composers, only the finding of his original scores brought back interest to that music and people start to understand that they have played baroque music completely wrong before.don't ask me why i dont like mozart, his music sounds to "produced" to me, the only track i can listen to of him is the jupiter symphony, i guess he composed it aged 14. i guess it's also because he's one of the first produced child prodigy, he was very talented for shure, but with such a father in the back anyone will be (compare michael jackson). there exists a cake called "donauwelle", if you ever have eaten one, mozarts music is exactly like that to me, to much, to sweet, to fat.hey and they foremost liked the music of those CZ composers then (i mean the classical periode, it's a style periode, not all orchestral music is classic and classic not only signifies a certain music it's a certain style in all arts music, pictures, architecture. the same goes to the rest of that, rococo, classical, romantic, etc.)you remember, "Music for long hairs" i like that term, jazz musicians in the 50's gave that name to the "classical" music, because of the "dreadlocks" the musicians wore.neither i like beethoven, his music either to loud or to boring, for my taste.most of those very popular pianists i don't like, chopin you could send to pepperland...Nikolaj Rimskij-Korssakow, lento from Sheherazade, a widely known tune and used in countless movies. not a very good record, it's exactly what i don't like, they killed the dynamic with to much sweetness, i mean it is a sweet and lovely track, but don't make a nougat cake out of it. btw, this is only a short demo, sorry. to play triplets with a large scored orchestra didn't sounds good (get streched to much), they belong to baroque music and have to be examined dry, so you can almost hear the rosin.Bedrich Smetana - Vltava (Moldavia), it took me some time to get comfortable with him, but now each time i listen, i like it more and that's a good sign.these are the tracks i listen actually to FFED3D.one not calssical tune, but a classic in it's time - Darks Star of the Grateful Dead, interpreted acoustically by the David Grisman Quartet.very nice version, it interpretes Darks Star like a classical tune and respects the love of jerry for arabic music and spanish guitar.if you listen and wouldnt know that it's a piece of a 60's psychedelic band, you would say IT'S CLASSICAL.i really would like to link this one up, but this track is extremely hard to find, even if you like to pay for it, it's part of the album Stolen Roses.if you get a chance, listen it, the whole album, if you got EARS, if not, let yourself grow some by listening to it.i won't post links here for that, because that's all copyrighted stuff. or maybe, if i find a legal link to them.geraldine, i guess DB thought for shure about "zarathustra", but well maybe the copyright fee was to high!and this is again art-deco

*i ment viola not violin, it's sounds darker somewhere between a violin and a cello.** you might wonder "bass on a bright instrument like a cembalo?" yes, that was typical baroque style, the bass voice is played on a cembalo, why not? it gives a certain drive to the music, compared to when you would only use strings (sounds like cold lasagne). in fact you can change the score how ever you like (listen bachs canons, please).*** that is like "Mish Mash" you rember ? my cats name "Misch Masch" for mixed colour fur. i miss her

originally i named her minush (which means simply cat and i guess it's from the arabic term "mish" for cat, pulling it all together, MISH MASH, a mashed cat, ok forget what mashed means for real, else it get's a bit horrible.there was poeple who suggested i should build a ladder for my cat to get on the balcony, why should i have? she jumped out of the window to leave and came climbing the wooden wall back into the window, cat's like that, they like "sports", preferably cat's roulette, running in front of a car

(note NOT ALL, her sister would have cried the whole day before doing such, but guess which one was quicker and smaller. might be the "tiger" has stolen her food when they was young, but later she got the receipt for it). if they would only let me as i would like, i have a huge classical collection, there was times when i listened to nothing else.and this is for the freaks who are possible after me because of copyright infringement.go and find this record...i wish you good luck, well not all good music belongs to the Venoms, you can stay wit your rodents

the Cosmo Galactic Prismit seems like this and the first track, you can't play in the browser, you will have to paste the link to your mediaplayer.
