Don’t think we have a thread about this game.sitehttp://www.shovsoft.com/lunarflight/ From the site

One thing I like to see in it is a more futurist lander, I am sure Nasa must have some design laying around for one.Shame theres no demo of the game.

This must have slipped through the cracks for me and just noticing Lunar Flight now. At first glance this game seems to be a lot better than any other previous lunar lander style game that i have seen. I liked the mini games feature and achievements as well. But the visuals look nice and I agree Pinback it would be nice to have maybe a few different lunar modules to pick from to pilot. I know its still in beta and $5 gets you into it and a copy of the game. But i do hope there is a demo once it is released.Adding this to the game listing.

Really like the look of the game from vid. 8-) Bit annoying how no one ever bother’s to say how big the download is. They just assume everyone has good broadband. Had a quick look through their forum and saw that there might be a demo when the game is released.Theirs a new release of the beta out on the 29th.

Hi SeanWelcome to SSC and Lunar Flight looks great especially after watching your beta preview: Is Lunar Flight still in beta or is it now officially released? And do you plan on branching out to other digital download sites? And is there any plans to make Lunar Flight moddable in any way? Would be great to see a level editor for this game to let players design their own lunar landscapes and missions for the lander.-D1-

The game is officially released on Desura for sale but is still in Beta at the moment hence the discounted rate. It is mostly complete but there are few issues and tweaks I want to make before it is 'Gold' I hope to bring it to Steam in the near future but I am waiting on a reponse from Valve about that.Unfortunately it won't be modable.Depending on the success of the game I will consider creating another game 'Lunar Flight 2' which will be much greater in scope as I will be able to contract some additional developers.

Hi sh0v0rFirstly, welcome to the SSC :) I have had a quick play around with your beta after getting it from Desura. I have to say its well worth £3.50! 8-) If you are thinking about doing a second game in the future, might you consider missions to Mars, Europa, Io or Titan? These could offer more varied environments and new challenges. Titan for example could offer very low visibility, geysers and unstable terrain as could Mars with dust storms or Io with ioquakes and eruptions.

Like that concept a lot Geraldine and it would be easy to come up with the next name of the game ;) But taking into account the climates and gravity on these different moons/planets would be great.

Indeed, there are lots of cool and interesting possibilities including going down into cavern systems and having to uses headlamps to see around.Allot depends on the success of Lunar Flight and if I will be able to invest in full time development on a new title. I hope to bring on additional team members which will make it possible to increase the games scope.

First thing I thought about when you said that was the old 2D Amiga game Gravity Force. The would be great in 3D! 8-) Asteroids would be riddled with caverns ;) Although having a scanning radar might be useful too in such conditions.

Sorry for the delay Shovor, I have posted the Lunar Flight review to the blog area: http://spacesimcentral.com/?p=792Had a fun time with the game even when I was running out of fuel or I mis-judged my speed and I hit the ground too hard. Youtube videos and screenshots don't tell the whole story about how Lunar Flight really plays. You kinda have to play it to know just how challenging and fun the game is at the same time. I do hope you have a demo coming soon (even just a one mission demo), because I think that would help boost some sales.

I would second that, the best $2.50 you will spend in a long while ;)

I can't believe I didn't post this sooner or Sh0vor did give us a heads up. A few updates ago Shovsoft added the planet Mars to Lunar Flight for free, so if you were waiting to buy this game I would probably do it now because this game has some really nice gameplay and realism.
