Hi,I'm Michael, 38 years old, married, four kids, and the creator of Solstice, a 3D Space Fleet Combat Real Time Strategy Game for Android devices (for those without Android devices, there is a free Windows version available for download at Indie DB).This seems to be a great place!

Had a quick search for your game and found it with no problems.Here is a link to the Windows version http://www.indiedb.com/games/solsticeLooks interesting and is fully 3D so lots of tactical moves look possible

It should give you a good impression on how it plays on a mobile device.I just integrated Heyzap on the Android Market version (there is a stand-alone version at amazonappstore for Android) and would love to see somebody playing Solstice or the demo or following me in Heyzap (Michael Aeschbach). The Android version is available for a minimal price of US$ 0.99. Unfortunately for me, casual games are more en vogue.If a member of SSC has no possibility to access the Android Market or to purchase the game, PM me and will send you a free copy.The mothership sketched in the image below will join the enemy forces in Solstice v1.1.3.

Not here they are. The SSC is the last, best hope not only for space sims, but space 4x'ers, space RTSes and basically any space related game and the deeper and more meaningful its gameplay, the better!

That's a very generous offer Michael, I don't have an Android myself, but I am sure at least one of the other members will.

I hope not to disappoint to much because the basic idea of Solstice was just to provide space battles for three to fiveteen minutes while you're in the train or bus.A Space Sim Vade Mecum

There is nothing wrong with short skirmish games. That has been an RTS staple for years. The important thing is that the game makes you think, take decisions or use your hard won skills which your game does, although with the way I am going to work in the mornings, I am lucky if I can just focus right!

Yeah, I know that, but it goes fine around midnight on your way home. Even though the hard won skills then are gone when needed

Hi DeepseaweedWelcome to SSC and i hope Solstice is doing well for you in the Android market? One because our main goal at SSC is to bring these types of games back to the mainstream and to support all the devs, with either by buying these games, feedback or plugging the game to other people. With your description of Solstice, I would agree that would be the best type of game for a tablet is a 5-15min game that you can play on a break or while waiting for something. I don't see myself using a tablet for a multi-hour game session but it would be used for short periods of time. And with the right mix of gameplay and innovation Solstice could be a nice sleeper hit on the Android market.Have you been getting much feedback on it? That spurs you on to keep improving it or for a second version?

Great to hear that! Unfortunately Solstice is neither doing well in the Android Market, nor in amazonappstore for Android

Yeah! IMHO phones and tablets should be used other than Gameboys and PCs.

No, and with the exception of friends only negative feedback up now. For me, a part of the fun is exploring the game mechanics etc., but the action span of the average gamer seems do be around one minute, which makes Solstice unaccessible.I'm constantly improving Solstice. Feature-wise, the upcoming version 1.1.3 will perhaps be the final version (depends mostly on feedback). I didn't consider a Solstice 2 yet, mainly for the reason of the user getting updates for version 1 for free, but has to pay for new games.There are drafts for a new game, but not for Solstice 2
