From the 1C forums. It looks like they are making a sequel to the Space Rangers games. As someone who LOVES, and still plays SR2, this is fantastic news.

An HD version of Space Rangers 2 Reboot. I hope they will add savegame functionality on the RTS section. I cannot wait though. A new developer's studio behind this version?

More then an HD version actually. More text quests, RTS Maps, and stuff for the space campaign. Also, it adds an entirely new warfront. While the dominators are invading, the pirates have started banding together under a new banner. You can choose to fight them, or join them, adding an entirely new campaign. Also, Pirate leaderboards, just like the Ranger boards.All kinds of new stuff. I'm pretty excited.

Nice although I would like to see a Rangers 3.Will add it to the release list any new on a release date for it.

Long time since we heard anything about this, think the Russian version may have come out but there is nothing about the English one so far.

Your probably right with that Pinback, a quick search on YouTube results in only russian videos on the gameplay (which looks good btw).

At last it's coming out on Steam next week 17/10/13 and even better news later on DVD. [url]http://spacerangershd.com/[/url] We are glad to inform you, that the release date of the game is now confirmed! Rangers would be able to free (or destroy) the Galaxy on October 17th on Steam! Also, a bit later there will be a retail DVD release (but discs also require Steam activation) in Europe. Country list and exact date for retail version will be specified within a few days. 

Steam activation for a DVD game, that's lame. Unless its the full game on disc and then you can also activate it on steam to play without disc or when your disc gets lost. Space Rangers HD does look nice compared to the previous games.

 Does seem a bit strange for what is just an HD update although it's pretty much standard now days for DVD game to require some sort of online activation, just hope it not like Galaxy on Fire steam activation where you can not play the game offline with out activating it online first.

Space Rangers HD does look nice compared to the previous games. There is a Higher Resolution patchs for Space Rangers 2 - Reboot. (And for Space Rangers 1, I think).

You have to wonder if they will ever get around to doing a Space Rangers 3.
