difference between bookmarks & subs?

wasn't sure where to put this ? and didn't find anything in search.just wondering if there's a difference between subscribing to a thread and bookmarking a thread?

Bookmarking a thread is just like a web browser bookmark it is for you to save threads you might want to go back to a subscription will PM/Email you when a new post is added to that thread you are watching. :)Moving this to the admin help area.
