Hiya all, im new here, loving it by the way. I have noticed that there are some ships that I have not seen before in some of the images posted by players. Are these ships new to 22 or are they the result of rare instances in the game or bespoke programming?Regards,Mike.

 I think what PotSmoke66 refers too above is that a lot of them are ships he has made but aren't in the official distribution. There's a thread here: http://www.spacesimcentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1395 with many of them at the start, but I don't know if they're still available to download. It's possible to make your own ships and add them to the game, in my case I've been experimenting with some ripped/downloaded+converted ships. It's not exactly easy but it's getting an existing model with textures into the game is not too difficult, something you can do in a long afternoon at the weekend for example.Andy

Ah, I think I have most of them downloaded, but they're on my other machine. I'll be home in a couple of days. Otherwise Gernot might find somewhere else to upload them.If you're smart enough to be a med student then you can figure it out, there's no programming required really, just some data wrangling. You can fly a big cube around if you felt like it :DAndy

Haha, thanks Andy. No, this med' student is programming dense! I could stretch to dragging and dropping but that's about it. Thanks for the confidence vote though. Wonder if anyone else still has the files?Hopeful,Mike.

patience, boys :D i was today on the airfield ("international hunter airport, mollis" 8-) ) to make some photographsi can upload that again no problem.i advised D1 to remove them, because of alpha23 release, i will see what needs to be fixed (nothing so far) and can upload the bundle to .../Pioneer in the download section. i removed them also because the single models are older as the bundled.further i still have the alpha22 bundle present on rapidsharehttps://rapidshare.com/files/4246599345/models_p66_12-05-08.zipadvice:the models come with all needed sub-models, they belong to ".../data/sub_models" and are ment to replace the complete directorychanges to alpha22/23 - foremost a new "selector" script, should be to handle by everyone, just enter a gender, 2 numbers for colors of your choice (flightgroup and dress) and a skincolor resp. face type for the pilot at top of the script (i.e. local gender = 0, for male, local gender = 1, for female) the chosen pilot will be the pilot in all fighters, if a ship has a crew the chosen pilot is captain, while the crew will vary in color and gender.the ships need to be replaced all, because some "alpha23" ships use a different pilot model which no longer exists.the buildings and spacestations can be replaced by choice, the standard set will offer a little better performance.i hope all will work fine for you, in case of accidence, reply.edit: please reply in all cases, so i will know if it's finei guess i won't reopen ".../pioneer/potsmoke66_models", before i made some changes to the models resp. filestructure (mods get zipped, standard models like now).marcel reported some problems with the download from rapidshare...
i will have to work with the zipped mods, so this will be the next change ahead.

fixed the defender, it was only something little, i thought so. i called a non existant function.i hope it will workout for you to install the script aloneit has to be copied to ".../data/models/ships/defender1/" and replaces of course only the "defender1.lua".some historical facts to the model :D it looks a bit like a "Y-Wing", but intentionally i copied the ship from the 80's shoot 'em up "Galaxian".i can't tell you now why i didn't named it "galaxian", defender is a different game, must have had a weird idea then, perhaps to hide the affiliation to it, stupid somehow.next up could be a "R-Type", why not? i like somehow to revive the 80's ships, to give them a shape like i wished back then they could have. (after the hunter? i will see, first i have to finish the "Sailor", could need a different name perhaps, because i started with the idea for a something like a "Solar Sailor" and M.C.Eschers "fish-ship", but it turned out quite different, "flying salami" probably  )but do not miss the Defender1 fixup ;)

Whoops. Don't know what I did there. Deleted the original Defender .lua file from the ships folder and replaced it with the one contained in the zip above and I broke Pioneer. So I deleted the one from the new zip and and now it works again, the Defender just does not appear in the store. Regards,Mike.:?

What's available in the shipyard varies. One way to make sure you see a ship is to accelerate time. You'll see the list of ships change as they are 'bought and sold'.

What does it say on the red screen? An error causes that to pop up so it helps to know what it says.
