Greetings everyone. My name's John ( I go by JT ) and I've just very recently found Pioneer and absolutely love it. Thank you whomever and all that are and have made it possible to enjoy this great space exploration game.I'm remembering the days of Descent, X-Wing, Wing Commander and Privateer series. The last I played was BattleCruiser Millennium Gold which had a steep learning curve ( at least for me ) but thefreedom to do whatever and be whatever I chose. That's why I love Pioneer. I've tried some others briefly but found them too battle busy or too complex with all the systems to manage.I have many years of past experience with different modelers and renderers started with command line raytracing programs such as POV Ray and went on to Truspace and 3Dstudio max & Bryce. I like Bryce and Truspace the best. Aware of Rhino, Maya and others but it's been awhile since I "played" with any of them.I would love to pitch in sometime especially in the city or spacestation creating / texturing area and possibly missions of exploration. Thanks again for such a beautiful game. It runs great on my laptop dual core Turion X64.Only been playing for a few hours so it will be awhile before I get ready to help, if wanted.Thankzx again <img src='http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />jt

Welcome to SSC JT,I'm sure your talents could be utilized, just make sure you visit the Pioneer forum area and I sure you could find something add or tweak.

Hi JTWelcome to the SSC. <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />As for Pioneer, help is always wanted and appreciated. For someone like yourself who is an experienced modeller, playing the game first is the best thing you could do as it will show you itself what needs to be improved, tweaked or even added. Thats the beauty of the project, you can mould the game itself to make it better <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_wink.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />When you feel ready, have a look at these threads to get you startedLUA for Beginners : http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/topic/2788-lua-for-beginners/ To Get Involved: http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/topic/1985-how-to-get-involved/ have fun reading the posts and don't forget to check out the download area for the space gaming gems within! <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I used to be, but haven't played with anything in quite some time ( modeling-rendering). My now ex-wife wasn't keen on me spending that much time on the computer and now that's over withI am free to enjoy my time whatever it may be <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Thanks,jt
