The coward's way out of combat

Found a positive use for fuel in combat. As i'm configured for exploration, i go very light on equipment, which means no lasers. I'm usually ok for hyperspace fuel if i need to get out of a system due to pirates (currently flying a Viper X with a M4 drive, enough for 1 full jump of 50+LY and another smaller jump).Well, i got pounced on by a constrictor in a system (only knew it was a constrictor because of console, have no advanced scanner thingy), but i didn't want to jump out because there was a planet i was interested in looking at, so i thought, right, can i outrun it. Well, probably, but when i slow to dock, it could (will) catch me (i've tried to play that game before, it always seems to be able to catch you as soon as you hit max stardreamer), so i dumped my remaining fuel, went to set speed and set high so that i would overshoot the planet.Once i was going at a few thousand extra km/s i let the autopilot take over, and of course i overshot the planet (by 7AU!) but just had enough fuel to get back and land.Checked the console and saw a wonderful message: <pirate ship> out of fuel.Haha... poor pirates! They should have known when to quit!
