N00b Video problem with iMac Alpha28

Hi Guys, I am a total Pioneer n00b, but not a flightsim n00b...I recently downloaded Alpha 28 to run on my iMac 2.66 C2D, 2Gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 Mb. The program starts ok, but the screen is frozen - ie the ship does not rotate and you have to click off the window and back on to see the refresh. Similarly, if you click on a menu option you have to click off/back on to see the result... The sim itself actually runs - the music plays , the thrusters roar etc etc - just that the viewport is always frozen. I have tried upping/ lowering the video options and even resorted to RTFM - but there isn't a FM yet lolSorry if this has been asked before but a search of the Forum has not been fruitful.

Don't worry we're not ignoring your post, unfortunately we only have one guy who has a Mac to test the game on!Could you find the logs that the game writes out and upload them to here so we can take a look? They should be called "opengl.txt", "stderr.txt" and "stdout.txt", from looking at the OSX source code I think they should be in "Library/Application Support/Pioneer".The other thing to try, although if the screen is not updating I understand this might be difficult, is going into the settings screen and turning off the shader support. The fallback non-shader game still works and is usually guaranteed to work.Andy

Thanks for the reply Andy - I did try disabling shader support but no change. I shall upload the logs tomorrow when I am back at the iMac...

Hello - Welcome to pioneer!!I'm the mac guy <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> - yep, we need more Mac testers <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_e_smile.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Your configuration files should be located in ~/Library/Application Support/Pioneer (open Finder, and with the Option key held down select Go|Library from the menu). The file you want to edit is config.ini and the line to edit is DisableShaders=0(make sure it is set to 0)There is also a file in that directory called opengl.txt - if you could upload that so we can have a look at it and work out what is going wrong.Alternatively (and preferred) if you can log your problem onto the issue register (https://github.com/p.../pioneer/issues it will also gain the attention of other developers (as I don't keep an eye on these forums as much as I used to).Cheers,Phil.

@joysterThat fixed it? Bizarre, might be an idea if we ship with it enabled by default!
