Limit Theory a new KS project.
Quote:
An RPG, RTS, and sandbox space exploration game all-in-one. Explore, trade, build, and fight in a beautiful, procedural universe.
An open-world space simulator / RPG
A sandbox game : No story, no restrictions.
Completely procedural : A completely new universe is only a button-click away.
Infinite : The game universe has no boundary.
Third-Person or First-Person : Command your ship from within or without.
Deep and intelligent : Engage in far more than just combat or trading.
Twitch-Based : Aim and fire weaponry directly, as you would in a shooter.
Approachable : Intuitive controls and slick interfaces ensure that playing will never feel like a job.
Strategic : Command an entire fleet when you amass enough cash to purchase more ships.
Extensively-Customizable : Outfit your ship, fleet, and space stations with whatever equipment you choose.
Single Player : A universe built just for you, that no one else will ever get to see (unless you choose to share it with them!)
Beautiful and Atmospheric : Gaze in awe at a universe as diverse, vibrant, and uniquely-atmospheric as your dreams.

Looks good saw it mentioned on the Elite kickstart last night, see he has a good few more pledges so hopefully he will make his target.

Yeah I saw this yesterday too and posted the kickstarter info on the mainpage, I really like the ideas he has and he sounds passionate about his game and vision for it. $50k isn't too lofty of a goal so I am hoping he can make this funding because it looks really good in the video clips he showed.

Yep backed this lad.You potentially get a lot more bang for your buck with independent single developers. As he's young he probably will live on that 50 grand till the game comes out.

Backed this one days ago.I am a little worried that it might change drastically though, from reading some of the suggestions of forums members...(people always want to pull the game into odd directions)

I just threw down some money for it. It looks amazing. I only hope more crowd-funding becomes the saving grace for the future of space sims.

I tend to agree with StarMax on this one, I think this kid will dedicate his life to this game and really aim to please his community. Such a ambitious project for one person but he seems to be doing the right things so far.

It's quite amazing that he hit the goal so quickly, maybe he can double it. And his engine looks great for a game that still has a year or so left on development.

Eh. I do like how he jumped on the scene with some real oomph. However, From reading his plans, I get the feeling that the game isn't going to be much fun for one ship type people. It really strikes me as the X series with a little freelancer thrown in. Also, everything in space he has shown looks exactly the same. I realize that this is very early early footage, but I kinda wish he would drop the 'fleet-building' and 'rts' aspects of the game and focus on making a fun space sim. <img src="'http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//icon_razz.gif class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />I think he is trying WAAAY to much for one fellow. Also, procedural generation is going to bite him in the rear imho. With that much PG, the game will be impossible to write guides for, and what little ive seen of PG being used extensively, it all becomes rather cut and dry.I'm also not going to back one guy. Frontier Developments is a company with a proven record for producing games. Same with Star Citizen's developers. One kid living on his own? He doesn't have to answer to anyone, and could literally walk away with that 60k and go drink and party it away.I do wish him the best tho!
